Since 2007, Stella Grande Pictures has been writing, producing, directing and editing short films. Our President and founder, Alexander Misiti, has a clear philosophy and vision for our company… which is best described in his own words.
“To me, film is an extension of my body and mind, and a medium by which I express myself. I study the writing, direction, and acting. I learn about the investmen
t in time, people and money. I even purchase the soundtrack and imagine myself as one of the main characters. Then, given my budget and resources, I attempt to create something different that contains the elements I like. Whether making or watching a film, the story must always come first, followed by compelling characters, identifiable situations, and powerful messages. Films lacking these elements are dull and quickly forgotten. For me, watching movies is not enough: I have an inner drive to make them. When I make a film, I make it from the perspective of my demographic, but understand the need to capture a wider audience. I love all types of film: action, comedy, drama, and horror. I believe the film industry needs a reawakening, just as it did in the 70s when Lucas, Spielberg, Coppola, and Scorsese brought fresh new ways of storytelling to the world. I want to make films with original ideas, staring real people in real situations, not remakes or sequels.”
Alexander brings this strong conviction and intensity of feeling to every film project he is involved in.
