We have been asked from members who aren’t big into FB to create a local message board on the website so we set something up!

Over 50 years of Corvair memories

The most interesting and air-coolest American Classics on the road

Being able to drive our Corvairs in one of the most beautiful places on earth.

But, maybe most importantly are the great memories passed down from generation to generation of Corvair owners.

Thanks to for letting us share this fantastic photo of his beautiful family and beautiful Corvair! This photo looks like it could have been GM ad copy in 1967!

Thanks to everyone who came out to our holiday lunch today at the Blackhawk Grill and extra special thanks to for letting us display our Corvairs on the rotunda in front of the museum and for the tour.

If you’ve never been, you really need to make a day to explore the museum. The car display is the best in the area but there is a whole other world to explore there.

A couple of reminders…

Tonight is our monthly zoom meeting 7pm. Message for true access number if you want to join us!

Saturday is our annual holiday lunch at Blackhawk Grill in Danville followed by a museum tour. The museum has allowed us to stage our Corvairs on their plaza again. If you’re going to drive your Corvair show up by 11am to park. Lunch will be at 11:30 returning to the museum for the tour at around 1:30. Our guided tour cost is $10 per person. Any questions, shoot a message!

This nicely restored slate gray 65 Monza rolled in from Sacramento for the 3rd annual Vairs at the Vault and drew a crowd like bears to honey.

Due to the modern color and streamline style, this could be considered a resromod, but the elements that make it a true Corvair remain. Nicely done! Beautiful car! ✨

You’ve made the first step in taking care of that Corvair by using products to bring out the shine.

We were absolutely blown away to see SFBA co-founder s very low mileage 1967 500 come through the gates at last weekends Vairs at the Vault. What a beautifully preserved Corvair. 🤩

Here are some of the early convertibles at the Vault this last weekend. On top of being real head turners, all of these cars have very well documented history. 3 1964 Monza 110’s and a 1963 Spyder turbo. Our buddy from the Southland @valvairworks explores beautiful @yosemite_national_park in his tricked out Corvair camper van! Val & his van may be making an appearance at @sterlingrestorationsnv open house on Sat. Roll out & say hi! Tioga Pass - Elevation 9,943 feet (3,301 meters) • Seriously the most nervous driving I’ve done. This is the only time I’ve kept the van in 2nd gear to engine brake the whole way down. But do what must be done and all is fine. Cross that one off the list. Too many great cars to mention, but I spotted a couple of E-types, a Big Healey, and what was possibly an MG or Austin 1100. SFBA member and road warrior @travisleefowler eating up the miles again. This time in his 64 500. Repost from @travisleefowler • Just got home from Palm Springs. Was very cool meeting people and checking out the Fan Belt Toss. I hung out in Newport Beach and apparently I missed some rainfall here in Roseville. The drive to SoCal and back home was fantastic and relatively uneventful. Hit a metal object on the 405 and that took out one of my fog lights and I think it hit the fuel tank because the fuel gauge stopped working. I'm hoping it just knocked off the ground wire or something. Only complaint on the '64 500 is that the bucket seats are TRASH!!! My butt hurt!!!! Got 24mpg bombing the highways at 70-75mph all day and it drove great. Would I do this again? Only if I get a comfortable seat. I do trust the car completely now after trying to do that trip 2 years ago. Only caveat is that I didn't leave California despite driving 1,100 miles... so maybe it's not 100% until I cross a state border. 🙄 Anyway... I'm home now!
