Born in St. Louis, Kuban was also a music teacher and band director at Bishop DuBourg High School.

Bob Kuban and the In-Men performed during the opening ceremonies for Busch Stadium in 1966 and closed the place down at the last regular season game in 2005.

GIVE NOW: wsie.com/support

As we make our way into a new year, I would like to wish you a safe and happy New Year's Eve!

I have been a lifelong fan of WSIE 88.7 The Sound ever since I first discovered it when tuning around the radio dial as a teenager in the early 90's. Since I took on the role of General Manager for this beloved radio station, one of the biggest challenges I've accepted is ensuring the financial wellbeing of WSIE. But I cannot keep WSIE alive by myself. Being that we're a publicly funded NPR Music station, I need your help in the form of financial contributions in order to keep this community gem alive.

YOU MAKE THE DIFFERENCE: wsie.com/support

As you make your New Year's resolutions, I humbly ask you to resolve to become a regular supporter of WSIE 88.7 The Sound. $5 a month ... $10 a month ... $25 a month. Whatever you can afford to give will not only help us reach our immediate goal of financial stability, but also our long-term aspirations of growth.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION IS VITAL: wsie.com/support

Also, it's not too late to donate online before the midnight deadline concerning tax deductions for this coming April 15th!

Thank you for your patronage and for your support. And tune in tonight, starting at 4pm for our annual WSIE New Year's Eve Top 88 Countdown. Happy New Year!

-Jason
