This week, fundraising continued at Stonehill College with beaded bracelets being sold, and a new and upcoming T-shirt sale in support of getting Lauren Rauseo home.

The Stonehill community is coming together to raise money and provide support to the family and friends of beloved student Lauren Rauseo after being seriously injured during a bike accident in Spain on March 17.

A group of students, alongside sociology Professor Dolgan, are collecting donations in support of the the Homelessness Improvement Project in Brockton.

With housing selections approach within the next couple of months, Sarah Herring wrote about how SGA is going to be providing more resources to help first-year students with the process.

For seniors, their time at Stonehill is coming to an end, and the celebrations began with the 100 days dance. Amy McCaron wrote about the event, and detailed how seniors are feeling about graduation.

Happy last day of finals Skyhawks!

With the end of the semester coming, we unfortunately have to say goodbye to our amazing Editor in Chief, Rachel who will be graduating after this semester.

Rachel’s favorite memory from the Summit is, “writing my last editors letter- it was in that moment when I realized school is actually coming to an end and Stonehill taught me so many aspects about the real world.”

Rachel’s post-grad plans are to apply to grad school and eventually get her doctorate!

Congratulations Rachel!🎓

Beginning on November 14th, over 65,000 lights were hung on the trees around campus to turn Stonehill into a Holiday wonderland.

The final senior spotlight is on me, Jake! I was the social media manager for The Summit over the last year and made a majority of the posts and announcements that you may have seen over the last academic year. I hope to continue in the social media world but I also have plans to pursue writing further, perhaps even writing a few books down the line. Thank you to everyone who supported us on social media this year, I’m beyond grateful for the response that we got. This is my last post, officially signing out from The Summit social media 🙂

It’s now time to spotlight the rest of our senior staff! Copyeditors Nick, Paige, and Jordyn helped look at stories and make sure they were correct in grammar and information before publication. Abby was our photographer and helped gather pictures for our stories. Lexie took on the business aspect of the paper, helping to secure ads for the paper. We want to thank them for all their hard work over the last year to keep things running. Congratulations!

Justine was our features editor and helped over the year to edit, write and seek out stories about students and events that deserved a spotlight. Justine recently completed an internship at Intersect Magazine where she wrote articles about music and pop culture and plans on after graduating finding a job in publishing or editing in Boston. Congratulations, Justine!

Our third senior spotlight is Hannah! Hannah was our opinions editor and also contributed a monthly opinion piece to the newspaper. Aside from The Summit, Hannah was heavily involved in SGA and was also a student-athlete. Hannah after graduation will be participating in the Disney College Program and also continuing her summer internship at Virtual Inc. Congratulations, Hannah!

Our second senior spotlight is Kelly! Kelly was the news editor over the last year and also wrote and edited stories for the paper. Many of the breaking news stories this past year were created by Kelly, so thank you Kelly for always helping us get the latest on campus news! Kelly hopes after graduation to continue in journalism or social media, perhaps writing for a magazine or local paper in her new home state of Virginia! Congratulations, Kelly!

To celebrate our seniors we will be doing senior spotlights leading up to graduation! Our first spotlight is our editor in chief Elizabeth. Elizabeth has worked super hard this year to make sure The Summit stays running from making sure the stories were correct to managing where each newspaper bundle would go. After graduation, Elizabeth will be starting a job at WB Mason as an SEO specialist. Congratulations, Elizabeth!
