Hockomock Film Festival

Hockomock Film Festival A competition based film festival, the Hockomock Film Festival encourages students to be creative, h Attleborough, Plainville, Sharon, Stoughton, Wrentham.

The Hockomock Film Festival (HFF) is a film festival for towns of the Hockomock League. We started five years ago as the Easton Film Festival, but now we are expanding because of the explosive growth of amateur filmmaking everywhere. Our goal is to create a community of filmmakers who not only compete with each other, but also meet up at events and seminars to learn from each other. To enter the H

FF, films must be produced by residents of the following towns that comprise the Hockomock League: Canton, Easton, Foxborough, Franklin, Mansfield, Norfolk, N. There are three categories: drama, documentary and music video. Prizes are given out for each category on Awards Day, held each May or June at Stonehill College.

Our Story

A competition based film festival, the Hockomock Film Festival encourages students to be creative, have fun and work collaboratively while creating unique films. The Hockomock Film Festival was originally founded in 2002 as the ‘Easton Film Festival.’ The founders recognized that there was a broader opportunity and reconstituted it to include 13 neighboring towns of the Hockomock League. These towns are: Canton, Easton, Foxborough, Franklin, Mansfield, Milford, Norfolk, No. Attleborough, Plainville, Sharon, Stoughton, Taunton, and Wrentham. Festival categories include: Drama, Documentary, and PSA. Submissions to the festival are due June 1st and an award ceremony will be held June 15th. The HFF is exclusive to high school students in the Hockomock league towns.

Hockomock Film Festival founder and organizer Bill Ames has announced retired from the festival and handed the reins over to Easton Community Access Television in 2018. We would like to thank Bill for all his hard work and for the opportunity provided to us. We would also like to thank everyone who has made the Hockomock Film Festival what it is today.

Easton Community Access Television is a non-profit dedicated, in part, to producing educational, cultural and informational community programming and to giving people a voice they otherwise might not have in the field of video and television production. We believe this festival provides a unique opportunity for students to embrace the world of film-making and build new skills in a fun and challenging environment.
