"When you're true to yourself, you not only trust the judgments and decisions that you make, but others trust you as well."
Being authentic in your social strategy is a huge part in making your online presence successful.
Think about it - Why are we attracted to the friends we have? Most of the time, we share a commonality that increases our trust in them.
If you love the outdoors and you have a friend that does, too - chances are, you would enjoy exploring nature with them vs. with a friend who prioritizes staying home or other indoor activities.
The outdoor activity would sound more appealing, in other words you would likely spend more of your time with that friend, doing something that brings excitement into your own life.
You may subconsciously 'trust' them more for a better experience.
Your online presence should do the same for your audience. Reel them in based on how well their interests match that of your brand.
When we try to relate to audiences that do not share any commonalities, it can cause confusion and end up resulting in negative feelings toward your brand.
It's best to stick with what you know and your people - the right people will follow!
