Don't Flood Your Timeline - Post consistently but give your posts time to breathe in between. Use your analytics. Over time, most of these platforms will give you times when your audience is most active. Attack those times.

For example, a client of mine. Their audience is most active at 7-8AM. 11AM-12PM. 7-8PM. So we post content at these times every day. When we post at the in between times, reach is lower and engagement suffers. Post during those times, views are higher and engagement is higher.
