The Warwick Police Department sadly announces the passing of retired Captain Michael P. Forde.

Mike passed away on Friday, August 9th, at age 64, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mike was a 30+ year veteran of the police department, serving in the Patrol Division, Administrative Services Division, Community Services Division/Community Policing, and Detective Division. He was a member of the SWAT Team for 13 years.

Everyone who had the good fortune of working with and knowing Mike knew him as a caring and genuine person. A friend who was always there for you, always caring about everyone else even when he was struggling himself. He shared good humor and a big smile with everyone he met. Mike truly was one of the “nicest guys” you could meet.

On behalf of the entire Warwick Police Department, we extend our most profound condolences to the Forde Family and to all those fortunate enough to have known him. RIP Captain Forde.

The work will consist of milling the existing asphalt, replacing and repairing drainage structure and manholes, installation of temporary pavement marking, then final paving, and installation of permanent pavement markings. Most of the work will be completed during evening hours and we anticipated that the work will be take approximately 4 – 6 weeks.
