CAMPAIGN UPDATE:

We're halfway through the year and I'm FLOORED that 15 people got me to $1300 in donations.

I'm humbled and thankful for your trust in what I'm doing.

Your help allowed me to pay artists their rates for some book projects during some challenging times.

Anyone who wants to help, check out the link below and/or share.

No amount is too small.

Thanks in advance!

RANDOM UPDATE:
So excited at how our upcoming fantasy, graphic novel is moving along. Lauren is tightening up the pencils and we’re testing colors out with Justin Wood.

In the meantime, let me introduce you to one of our main characters, Otis.

GOT A MOMENT?

I've tried to come up with ideas to get my little publishing company more eyes in North Carolina and surrounding regions. Still, I am quickly learning that I need to build better connections as I'm steadily growing. I figured what better place to ask than here, so here goes!

1) Do any of you know of/or are involved with events with inexpensive-to-free spaces for vendors, to connect me with?

2) Can you introduce me to any shops that would carry independently published books like mine?

3) Do you know of any opportunities where I could do small workshops/round tables about self-publishing and creative writing?

I appreciate you taking the time to read this, any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. If you need a link to my work it will be in the comment section below.

Thanks in advance for your time.

I STILL NEED YOUR HELP:

Hey everyone!
It's been a minute since I've shared an update on my fundraiser to make more books this year. Up til now, we're at 5% of the goal I set for myself this year. To those who have supported this project so far, thanks for believing in me, it means so much.

For those on the fence, Let me share my top 4 goals for this year to help grow my small publishing company. (The link will be in the comment section because Facebook penalizes posts with external links in the)

1) REPRINT OUT OF PRINT BOOKS: I can't sell books I don't have. Supporting my fundraiser will allow me to reprint books, like my picture book Gumgah and the Grumpledonk, and be able to sell at conventions and finally print hardcover versions to have at Public Libraries. I have other out-of-print books I would like to feature newly designed covers.

2) KEEP PAYING ARTIST ON CURRENT PROJECTS: As I mentioned previously, I'm working with incredible artists on my latest fantasy graphic novel, Otis and the Sylva Beast. Your support will allow me to hire a colorist to further this project. I'm so excited at the quality of work I've seen so far and it's moving along wonderfully.

3) HIRE A PROMINENT CARTOONIST FOR A NEW PICTURE BOOK: I've approached a mystery artist who I have been wanting to work with for years to help me develop a fun picture book I wrote about being a dad with two little rambunctious daughters. He agreed to work with me and I'm pumped for this collaboration. As I mentioned earlier, having funds to secure his time will give him space to do this book justice.

4) GO TO MORE CONVENTIONS: Convention tables are getting more expensive by the day. Any funds raised will also help me travel to places where I can sell more books and grow my audience.

With that said, I know it's a rough time right now. I completely understand if you can't support my fundraiser monetarily, but know that sharing also goes a long way. Sharing with folks who might be interested helps boost the visibility of my work.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.

I appreciate your time. Be sure to look at my link in the comments below to help me grow Not So Super Publishing. No contribution is too small.

Thanks again for everything.

It's time for a quick update on my publishing fundraiser.

First, thanks to all the supporters who got me to the 5% mark.

I appreciate y'all so much for your generosity!

The contributions really came in handy this month. I started this fundraiser because I needed to consistently sustain my projects' progress regardless of my financial situation. This month is a great example of that.

We had car troubles this month and my personal finances needed to cover that, but that left nothing for book projects I'm currently working on. Instead of sending a sad email telling the artists that I needed to pause the project until I could save up enough again, I used the funds from the fundraiser to keep the project moving forward.

Being a small publisher is tough. And not many of us make it because of the financial strain it has on us. I'm fortunate to still be around after more than a decade, but it's genuinely only because of the support from many of you.

I would love to stay around for another decade because I believe in what I'm doing and that being kind and generous to others while giving my best in the books I create contributes to a better tomorrow. I believe in paying artists fairly and treating readers kindly and your support helps make that a reality.

If you want to contribute, the link is in the comment section. Whatever you contribute will go a long way and is appreciated. There's no rush, so feel free to contribute whenever you can. If you can't give, sharing goes a long way.

Thanks for your time.

This month's contributions have gone towards promotional merch for an upcoming convention where I will host my first workshop, "Self-Publishing on a Shoestring Budget." Any amount you give will go a long way. And sharing helps too!
