Price can sometimes be deceiving. I know that sometimes when someone is much cheaper than their competitors, it's easy to wonder "why?". Well I can tell you why I am less expensive than many of my competitors.
One of the reasons I am less expensive is, this isn't my only source of income. I do this to make a little extra money on the side and because I honestly enjoy being able to help make your event as memorable as possible. I mean who doesn't like a party?
The second reason I have a lower price point is that I don't bring quite as much equipment. I don't feel the need to take up half the dance floor with a bunch of equipment I really don't need just to look more impressive. I have never had an issue filling the area with good clean sound. I also don't have as many lights as some of my competitors. Right now lights are one of the biggest expenses for mobile entertainers. The technology continues to grow and there are some amazing light fixtures out there, but they are expensive. That cost gets passed along to you, the client. I don't know that in all of the weddings I have attended that I have ever heard someone say "Wow, look at all these amazing lights!" I have however heard them say they didn't like the music, or the D.J. talked to much, etc, etc.
Finally, Value, I could charge more, I could be in line with others in the area, but I believe that everyone should be able to have professional quality entertainment at their event. Just because you don't want to spend a large amount shouldn't mean you have to settle for a boom box with Spotify.
