My sister is busy mom of two, and only manages to get her hair done 2-3 times a year—if we’re lucky enough to sync our schedules since we live in different states. Usually, her hair gets washed in a bathtub at home 😂, so being in the salon was a major treat. She’s got a TON of hair, and as life has shifted for her over the years, so has her hair. Building a clientele means working with lots of new clients, which comes with a lot of fun transformation projects— something I ❤️ When someone comes in looking for a big change or needing to correct their current color, I always start with focusing heavily on the consultation. My goal is to be as upfront as possible about what’s realistic for the first appointment and what may take a little more time. While I do everything I can to make your hair dreams happen quickly, some things require a few steps. That’s where trusting the process—and trusting your stylist—really makes all the difference. This 4.5-hour appointment was all about correcting old color bands and previous highlights to get her on track towards her lighter goals. We used @k18hair to minimize any damage while coloring. I remember being in high school and heading to get my hair done. I got my first highlights in 8th grade, and ever since, I’ve been hooked on blonde lol 😅ya girl’s been loyal to the lookNo matter what was going on, those salon visits were always something I looked forward to. Leaving the salon, I always felt uplifted, and the conversations with my stylist were somehow just what I needed. I remember thinking, “I want to be part of someone’s life in a way that makes them feel happy, be something they can look forward to.”I don’t remember every conversation I had at the salon, nor every detail about how my hair looked each time. But I can always recall feeling lighter, happier, and more confident when I left. That’s the feeling that drew me to this industry. Connection and joy. If I can leave a lasting impression on any client, making them feel happy and confident, I’ll know I’ve done my job.
