Annual Leapfrog Press Global Fiction Prize Contest in collaboration with Can of Worms Enterprises (UK). Our list is eclectic and includes quality fiction, poetry, and nonfiction; books that are described by the large commercial publishers as midlist, and which we regard as the heart and soul of literature. We're always on the lookout for new talent. Some of our best writers have trouble placing th

eir books with the conglomerate-owned publishing houses because their books are not perceived as best-seller material. We see ourselves as a home to new works by accomplished writers and works by those just starting out. We're keenly aware that good writing is only the beginning. A successful book must be guided through its journey to reach the right audience. Our publishing program includes hardcover and paperback originals as well as revised and repackaged trade paperbacks. What we promise is writing that expands our webs of connection with other humans and the natural world; books that illuminate our complexities; tough, unsentimental books about our difficult and sometimes insanely funny choices in life and how we make them.

Congratulations to our 2024 winner of the Leapfrog Global Fiction Prize - Natalie Shaw Evjen! Her novel Wolfpack was selected as the winner of the YA/MG category and will published by Leapfrog Press later this year.
Natalie Shaw Evjen is passionate about storytelling that builds bridges. The inspiration for her own writing comes from her experiences navigating adolescence, faith, and motherhood. Her stories and poems have been featured in Mom Egg Review, Sixfold Journal, Brilliant Flash Fiction, and elsewhere. Currently, she is pursuing an M.A. in English at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah with the support of her husband, kids, and mischievous rabbits.
We're excited to welcome Natalie as a Leapfrog author!

We're excited to announce the judge for this year's YA/MG fiction category - Becca Barnes!

Becca is a dedicated New Zealand writer with a penchant for the weird and wacky. She cut her teeth writing and co-producing nearly 200 episodes of the U.S. kids show Power Rangers. She is proud to have helped bring diversity to the screen with the first LGBTQI+ Power Ranger, in an episode which won the 2022 GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Kids and Family Programming. With a brain wired to find stories that excite kids, Becca writes children's fiction, graphic novels and screenplays.
