All the love from Dinosaur Burps crew!!!

Just wanna start the day with some gratitude and thank everyone for their support over the last few months.

I’ve said for years that I’ve always expected nothing out of music, and just done it because I have been compelled to. B. Rude and Sqweazle feel the same. Anything else gained is super awesome icing on the cake.

The fact that some silly songs we’ve made in extra rooms and basements in West Virginia make their way around the world still blows my mind.

Being invited to play in California, with the massively talented Sierra Ferrell and her crew, was beyond imagination. It was really historic. When else have two acts from lil old Charleston got to play to a sold out Warfield Theatre? 🤯 I know from all the conversations we’ve had since we got back that many of you followed our trip closely because you were so stoked for us all. That’s LOVE.

Some thanks are in order. Biggest shoutout to Sierra Ferrell for bringing us out. Thanks to everyone at Kin Ship Goods for designing and printing our tees and making the awesome prints for the send off show at The Snack Institute. That show was exactly what we needed to get us road ready! Thank y’all for coming out, donating money for our trip and buying merch! Big help.

Additionally, thanks to the homies Big River Media for audio support over the years, Mick Posey for photos and video and thanks to our art bubs Jimbo Valentine and Chris Woodall for all your killer work. Thanks to Greg McGowan for his help with behind the scenes music biz stuff!

It’s hard to put into words what last night (and this entire weekend) meant to us. A few months ago, we had the wild idea of recording a live album and with the blood, sweat and tears of many friends, we were able to see that vision realized.

But that was just a part of it, because for all we knew our idea could’ve resulted in playing an empty room and an album no one wanted to buy. But Southern West Virginia you showed up and showed out. We are floored with all the support we received. And not just Southern WV, folks driving down from Northern WV and up from North Carolina, just for us? We would never ask you to do it, and never expect it, but we are eternally grateful.

A full theater of your beautiful faces made our night. And the merch you bought and albums you pre-ordered? We just cannot thank you all enough for the support. You made it all worthwhile, and we couldn’t have done it without you. We’re still floating on the clouds this cool Sunday Evening, and it may take us another day or two to catch our collective breath.

And while we are so very appreciative of every single person who took the time to come see us and/or order the merch, there are a few others we need to thank by name.

Thank you to the Host with the Most, our good friend Matt Deal, for the great introduction and for always having that thang on ya. No one can play the kazoo like our man Matt, and we wouldn’t want anyone else celebrating friendship and basketball with us.

Jessica Hypes, the First Lady of Alabaster Boxer, you never fail to amaze us, and inspire us, when you share the stage with us. And in another show of your amazing talent, you not only sang Never Be the Same with us, as usual, but you also shared a brand new song with us that you had never sang before yesterday, and you nailed it. We can’t imagine those songs without you.

And then there’s our brother Chandler Beavers who was the first Boxer after Nick. Chandler, it was so awesome to have you back on stage with us for a handful of songs, and you know you are always welcome with us whenever you get a break from your own amazing music career. We love you and couldn’t have done this without you.

In addition to those you saw on the stage with us, there is zero chance this weekend could have happened without the behind the scenes work from some of the finest people we know. Robbie Lanham of Monarch Entertainment, Jamie Lee Smith of Kid in the Background, Inc, Brad Kinder & Bug Kinder-Schuyler of Big River Media, all gave up part or all of their weekend to make this show possible. And there’s more time coming from them to get the album mixed, mastered, and to press.

Kayla Miller, Tiffany Jenkins, and Hannorah Durm, between ticket sales, merch sales, food delivery and any other day of needs, you all made it look easy keeping everything running smooth for everyone there and we cannot thank you enough.

And last, but certainly not least, we owe a big thank you to our sponsors. These businesses are not only fine businesses in their own right, but they are always supporting the local community in any way they can. So be sure to show your appreciation for them and frequent their establishments as often as possible. Even when the acoustic guitar strums low, the lights are ambient, and the vocals are nearly whispered, we find it such an energizing treat to record for such incredible musicians like Sean Richardson. His outlook on music and life are intertwined in positivity, unity, and love. He has been working on creating a space on the West Side to celebrate the beautiful collaboration music brings to community, and as much as we can’t wait for you to hear these songs, we also can’t wait to spend many enjoyable nights at Pumzi’s! Keep an eye out for these new tracks, his upcoming shows, and the opening of Pumzi’s. So many great things coming 🤗

Here’s some excited news in regards to our Open Mic Nights for the summer!

We’ve teamed up with City Center Live, and starting on July 20th, we’re gonna be hosting open mic every other Thursday on the stage at Slack Plaza on Summers St!

Signups will start at 6:30 on the stage with 10 available slots at 10 mins each. Sound will be provided by our good friends at Big River Media, and we’ll be providing an acoustic guitar, but feel free to bring your own instruments.

So tell your friends and come show us what you’ve got!
