“You’ve got to love it to be in it…the logging business. It’s a hard job. Once it gets in your blood, it’s hard to get out.” Mike Gainous of Triple L Timber had all of the qualities of an interviewee that you hope for when you work on a project like this. Cool voice, great stories, and catchy quotes. We leaned into sound design pretty hard for this intro, and had a lot of fun doing so. It’s always one of my favorite parts of the editing process. This intro is something we storyboarded before heading to Georgia for filming. After building out the scene using footage from previous Barko shoots, we just had to keep our eyes out for shots that would fit nicely over the course of the two days we spent filming on location. Pre-Production may seem like more work, and it can be, but it is so important to have an idea sketched out when you want to execute something specific.
