On The Record is a biweekly music & arts zine with a resolute listing of twin ports arts events I’ll keep spending the hours sleuthing so you don’t have to.

On The Record is a biweekly Duluth-Superior music and arts zine with a resolute listing of music, theatre, art, and indie film events in the twin ports, plus some content from That Sound Lady and local contributing writers/creators. In light of the post-covid renaissance of live shows, here is my concerted effort to light fire back into the local music and arts scene. The goal between On The Recor

d zine and That Sound Lady services is to create a thriving arts ecosystem in Duluth and Superior that adapts and evolves with the community. It’s designed to be print-first for those burnt out on the digital-first world, but you can access it online anytime. If you love being in know of all the local arts happenings and you want this ecosystem to thrive, help keep this going and growing! Here’s what you can do to support:

This community needs you, your art, your support, your compassion, your ideas, your energy, your stories, your knowledge, your voice. Halloween might be over but it’s still spooky season in my heart - especially amidst possibly the most terrifying season (elections). With tons of arts functioning from nonprofit funding, the creative economy is on your ballot. But the Work of art doesn’t end at the polls. Regardless of how it turns out, there’s more to be done - including organizing! Go soak up some art, music, theatre, and community. Keep your departed loved ones close this All Souls Day. And let’s keep making our corner of the world more beautiful, creative, and inspiring.

I didn’t realize I was so curious about this nerdy behind-the-scenes topic. Did you know an artist can’t Simply upload music directly to Spotify anymore? What a time to be a musician. The latest features a little look at the inner workings of ‘s recent album Campfire Extraordinary. And a mini reminder that art and politics are not mutually exclusive.

I’m so dang excited for this full day of community love. The ticketing is freshly updated - kids under 12 get in free with their grown up. But the community art and activities area is not just for kids! So many ways to enjoy this celebration. Including picking yourself up a local record or cd from !! Stop by the merch tent and get the day-of bands’ goodies too!
