Well, it’s that time again! My heart is full as I celebrate my firstborn, Ramsey James, who turns 17 today 🎂

I still remember the day he entered this world, all 9 pounds and 6 ounces of him, with those deep, curious eyes that let me know he was something special. From his very first salad bowl at age 3 to this morning, when I caught him in the kitchen making his own bowl and a protein shake for school, Ramsey has always shown a mix of maturity and playfulness that keeps life interesting.

Being his mother has been one of life’s greatest gifts – though, like any teenager, he has his moments! Over the years, he’s grown into a thoughtful, strong and independent young man, but he’s still the same sweet boy who used to light up my kitchen, taste-testing every salad, dressing and topper I created. Now he’s making his own salads and becoming more responsible each day.

I couldn’t be prouder of the person Ramsey is becoming. He’s a constant source of light and inspiration, and while raising a teenager comes with its challenges, it’s been one of the greatest joys of my life.

Please join me in wishing Ramsey the happiest 17th birthday. Watching him step confidently into adulthood is bittersweet, but I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything. Here’s to many more years of watching my salad-loving, shake-making boy chase his dreams and carve out his place in the world 🥗

Today is an extra special day for my family, as we celebrate the incredible gift that is Aubrey Jay, my precious little boy who entered this world five years ago today, three weeks early, at 7 pounds and 19 3/4 inches long 💙

For those of you who’ve followed our journey, you already know how much this day means to me. Aubrey is my beautiful , born after six pregnancy losses over seven difficult years. During that same time, I also lost my beloved father and oldest brother, Aubrey Jay Johnson Sr. and Jr., whom my sweet boy is named after. His arrival was truly a miracle – one of life’s greatest gifts, showing me that even in the hardest of times, hope can bloom 🌈

Adorable, silly, smart and full of so much joy, Aubrey has brightened every corner of our lives in ways I could never have imagined. He’s my little light and living proof that dreams really do come true 💫

I can’t thank you all enough for the love and support you’ve shown us through this journey. Your kind words, thoughts and prayers have meant the world. Please join me in celebrating my amazing son, Aubrey, as we mark this very special day. Help us wish him the happiest of 5th birthdays 🎂

If you follow , you've likely noticed that my salad bowls are packed with a variety of ingredients. My goal is to help you understand the balance that each layer brings and how each one can fully nourish your body and mind.

So, before you make your next , consider these 5 bowl basics ⬇️

🥗 Lots and lots of non-starchy vegetables. Get more bang for your bowl by filling at least half of it with deep-colored veggies like leafy greens, bell peppers, beets, carrots and red onion.

🥗 Fruity and berry sweet treats. Fruits are quick, easy and healthy ways to upgrade your bowl, especially tomatoes and other berries.

🥗 Fat and everything in between. Yup, you read that right! Fat is a must for every salad bowl. Besides making everything taste better, fat also boosts feelings of fullness and supports your body's ability to absorb certain vitamins.

🥗 Pure and unadulterated protein power. Protein helps preserve muscle, burn fat and rev up metabolism. Whether you're a vegan, vegetarian, plant-forward eater or a meat-lover, there's a good quality protein source for you!

🥗 A hearty little spaces for good starches. Not all starchy foods are bad. In fact, many are actually great sources of health-promoting fiber, protein and other nutrients.
