TROPICAL STORM DEBBY 🌧️💨🌊

TS Debby made landfall in South Carolina early this morning and will continue lifting north through central North Carolina this afternoon into early Friday morning.

The biggest impact from TS Debby will be life-threatening flash flooding due to several days of heavy rainfall, lasting through Friday. Additional rainfall amounts will range 2-6 inches, with locally higher amounts possible. A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Friday evening. Additionally, there is a threat for gusty winds and tornadoes through Friday.

🚩 Single Red Flags are flying at Duck, Southern Shores, Coquina, Rodanthe and Buxton beaches. At this time ocean swimming is STRONGLY DISCOURAGED due to HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK!!

🚩🚩Double Red “NO SWIMMING” Flags are flying at Frisco and Ocracoke. At this time ocean swimming is not allowed.

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!! 🇺🇸
Today we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. ❤️🤍💙

This morning our lifeguards completed the Memorial Day Murph (beach version)!!
• 1 mile run
• 100 swim strokes (substitute for pull-ups)
• 200 push ups
• 300 squats
• 1 mile run

The Murph is a well known workout that is traditionally done on Memorial Day. The Murph is named after Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy who was killed on June 28, 2005 serving in Afghanistan. This workout serves as one of the many ways to honor Lt. Murphy and all those who have and continue to serve our country.
