MY HUSBAND TOLD ME "YOU KNOW MY MOM COMES BEFORE YOU," SO I TAUGHT HIM A LESSON

My husband, James, is a complete mama's boy. He'll call his mother for hours, talk to her, and spend more time with her than he does with me.

I'm six months pregnant and recently asked James to help me with the nursery. He said that would interfere with spending time with his mom. I told him I needed him more now, but he gave me an offended look and said, "You know my mom comes before you," then went to his mother.

Later, my MIL called me and said, "I WON," in a snarky voice and I just bit my tongue and said, "Maybe I'll win next time." She hung up. I could hear my husband laughing in the background and that just angered me even more.

MY MIL RUINED MY FLOWER GARDEN AND REPLACED IT WITH HIDEOUS GNOMES — BUT KARMA STRUCK BACK

So, a few months ago, my mom got seriously ill, and I went to stay with her for a couple of weeks. I left my husband, Tom, in charge of the house and my beloved flower garden, which I've poured my heart into for years.

When I finally got home, I couldn't believe my eyes. My beautiful garden was gone, completely replaced by rows and rows of hideous gnomes—at least twenty of them! I was horrified. It turns out, my MIL did it. Her first words? "Well, someone had to do something about that eyesore. YOU'VE GOT NO TASTE in exterior design, so I thought I'd show you how it's done."

MY MIL SECRETLY MADE A DUPLICATE KEY TO OUR HOUSE—WHAT SHE DID THERE WHILE WE WERE AWAY STUNNED ME

So, one day, my MIL came over to our place. As usual, she made a point to tell me how everything in our home was wrong, that it was dirty, and basically called me a terrible housekeeper. I'm used to it by now.

Lately, the neighborhood's been a bit sketchy, so I always make sure to lock the door. I grabbed the keys off the table and locked up—only to realize later that I had grabbed her keys, not mine! Turns out, she secretly made a copy!

Honestly, I'd been feeling like someone had been in the house while I was out, but after finding out she had a key, I couldn't shake the feeling. So, I decided to install a security camera without telling my husband.

Two days later, while I was at work, I checked the camera footage and saw my MIL WALKING INTO OUR HOUSE. But what I saw next almost made me lose it.

MY LATE GRANDMA'S NEIGHBOR ACCUSED ME OF HIDING "HER SHARE OF THE WILL" — WHEN SHE REFUSED TO LEAVE, I GAVE HER A REALITY CHECK.

After moving into my late grandma’s house, I woke up one day to a loud knock on my door. Standing on my porch with her arms crossed was my grandma’s neighbor. My grandma always called her “that entitled lady,” and soon enough, I was about to call her the same.

“How long am I supposed to wait for my share of the will?! My grandkids are coming over, and I want them to take their part of the inheritance before they leave!” she demanded.

I was baffled. I could barely find the words to tell her that she wasn't mentioned in the will and that everything in the house now belonged to me. However, I offered to let her go through some boxes I had packed for donation.

“Donation boxes?! Your grandma was like family to us. We had to be mentioned in the will. Give it to me! I have to see for myself."

When I told her no, she refused to leave my porch and stood there, peering into my windows. That’s when I came up with an idea to give this entitled lady a reality check. I simply took a pen and a scrap of paper and ⬇️

MY DAD BRAGGED ABOUT EXPENSIVE GIFTS HE "BOUGHT FOR ME" WHEN HE DIDN'T EVEN PAY CHILD SUPPORT – HE LEARNT A HARSH LESSON.

My dad left when I was five. No child support, no calls, nothing. My mom? She’s been my everything. I’ve always been into music, especially the piano, and my dream was to get a professional digital one to compose. It's expensive, but my mom worked extra shifts to make sure I could follow my passion.

Graduation was coming, and guess what? My mom surprised me with that exact piano—my dream one. I was so happy I posted it on Instagram, thanking her for being the best. Then, a few days later, I got a message from one of my dad’s old friends, saying how awesome it was that my dad got me the piano. Wait, what?

Turns out, my dad had STOLEN my picture and posted it on his Instagram story, claiming he bought it for me! His caption? "I’ve always supported my daughter’s dreams. Bought this piano — only the best for my little girl!" I was FURIOUS. The man who’s done nothing for me was trying to steal credit for my mom’s hard work!

I didn’t say anything, but I knew karma was coming for him. And oh, it was going to be good. A couple of weeks later, we were at a community event and one of my dad’s ⬇️

When Chris entered his mom's house and hugged her tightly, his gaze was drawn to a young woman in the hallway wearing a cloak and saying goodbye to his mother.

Chris looked at his mother in surprise. "Who was that young woman?"

Mrs. Miller smiled. "Weren't you the one who hired a cleaner for me through the agency?"

"Oh, I forgot!" Chris remarked. "I didn't know they'd employ such a young person for this job."

"Don't you like this girl?" Mrs. Miller asked.

"Well, she's young and pretty," Chris said after a pause. "But why would she work as a cleaner? The job is so disgusting."

Mrs. Miller was taken aback. "Do you even know why she works as a cleaner, Chris? How can you judge someone like that?"

MY WIFE FOUND THE SWEATERS SHE KNITTED FOR OUR GRANDKIDS AT A THRIFT STORE — SHE WAS SO HEARTBROKEN THAT I HAD TO TEACH THEM A LESSON

My wife is 73 years old, and she’s the sweetest person I know. Every Christmas and on their birthdays, she hand-knits special sweaters for our grandkids. For their birthdays, she would also make a plush toy for the little ones or a blanket for the older grandkids.

Recently, we went to our local thrift store and saw all her handmade gifts for sale. I watched her heart break as she gently touched one of the sweaters she made for our oldest granddaughter. She held back tears and reassured me that it was okay, saying she understood that kids might be embarrassed to wear grandma’s sweaters.

I was not as forgiving as she was. This was devastating and downright cruel. That very evening, I went back to the store, bought everything back, and prepared to teach my grandkids a lesson.

I CAME HOME TO MY MIL TURNING MY HOUSE UPSIDE DOWN — WHEN I SAW WHAT SHE WAS SEARCHING FOR, I FELT MY HEART DROP

My MIL was never one to intrude on our privacy. She knew how to mind her own business and only visited when she was invited by James (my husband). This is why, when I came home to find our cupboards and closets turned inside out, I was stunned, to say the least. My underwear, our kitchen supplies, our bills—everything was all over the floor and tables.

Shocked and confused, I asked her what was going on, to which she angrily replied:

“I know James is hiding it! From me and from you! I noticed it after—”

In the middle of her sentence, a white box dropped from the top shelf. I had never seen it before, and my husband hadn’t mentioned getting it. My MIL rushed to open the lid. I GASPED when I saw that the box was filled with... ⬇️

I went into the garden and immediately shouted to my husband, "Mike, please don’t forget to mow the lawn!"

Mike did not respond; he continued sitting on the bench, staring into the neighbor's garden. Our new neighbor was a blonde woman in her twenties who had moved in just over a week ago.

I WAS DISAPPOINTED TO INHERIT JUST AN OLD HUT UNTIL I FOUND THE HIDDEN BASEMENT

So, when my sister inherited this massive house from our parents and all I got was an old, run-down "hut," I wasn't exactly thrilled. Not because I cared about getting less, but because I found out from my sister's fiancé that our parents made this decision because of my nomadic lifestyle. Basically, they didn't approve of me.

But here's where it gets interesting. I decided to suck it up and move into the so-called house and started fixing it up. While renovating, I stumbled across a section of the floor that was completely rotted out. Curious (and slightly terrified), I dug around and discovered a hidden cellar underneath.

Despite my heart racing, I went down there and found a table covered in papers. And that's when it hit me—my dad's last words came rushing back to me...⬇️

I firmly believe that kids should move out when they turn 18. If my daughter doesn't leave our house after her 18th birthday, she'll remain a dependent child, always leaning on her parents. I need her to grow up, face the real world, and learn what it means to stand on her own.

There will never be a "perfect time" to leave the nest — it's supposed to be challenging. But now, she's calling me a terrible mom for forcing her out when she doesn't have a job. To that, I ask, how else is she going to get a job if she's not pushed into the real world? Am I really the villain for wanting her to be independent and strong?
