West Laurens has added a home game with Beach High School (Savannah) this Saturday at 6 p.m., to replace Friday's cancelled matchup against Bradwell Institute.

This Friday's West Laurens-Veterans matchup has been postponed due to quarantines.
Our adjusted broadcast schedule will now have the Tailgate Party running from 5-7, and the Dublin Chevrolet-Nissan Scoreboard Report beginning just after 10.
We don't say it enough, but we're blessed to have such a faithful audience of folks who tune into our broadcasts each week of the season.

We've been told today's game with Howard is being postponed, due to COVID-19 issues on the part of the Huskies.

SCHEDULE UPDATE: Due to expected inclement weather, Friday's region matchup with Perry has been moved to Thursday afternoon. First pitch will still be at 5:30.

Today's baseball game against Westside has been rescheduled for Monday. Our next broadcast featuring West Laurens at Rutland will be Friday afternoon.
As you might already gather, there'll be no baseball this afternoon.
On account of rain, the Raiders' season opener at Jones County has been postponed.
Our next broadcast will be Saturday's doubleheader as West Laurens faces River Ridge and Roswell in Woodstock.
Today's Raider Baseball scrimmage has been postponed until tomorrow. Weather permitting, we'll try to play ball at 5:30 p.m.
The GHSA has moved all AA and AAAA playoff games this weekend to Saturday, due to a shortage in officials.
West Laurens' first-round collision with Cairo will now kick off at 3:30 p.m.

We know Coach wouldn’t want a lot of pageantry, so here’s a quote from Coach Holmes from 2005 that sums up Pops. We love and will miss you, and are so grateful for the 40-plus years you devoted to growing Fighting Irish kickers into quality young men. God bless to your beautiful family. Lord willing, we’ll be back together talking plant foot and laces out one day.
“To be 100 percent honest, when I first got here, my first thoughts were ‘we don’t need somebody to just coach kickers,”’ Holmes said. “Of course, this was before I had met George, and when I had just a piece of paper in front of me with a list of names of who the coaches were. I looked at that and said ‘we could take that supplement and hire somebody that coaches more than just the kickers.’
“But after about two weeks of being in Dublin, and No. 1, knowing the football knowledge that George has. You know, he doesn’t coach anything other than kicking, but he knows Dublin, he knows Dublin football, he knows the teams we’re going to be play and their history, and can tell you a lot about the games and playing those people over the year.
“But what he also does, is he works the kickers. He takes as much pride in having a kicker ready to go, as I do in having a quarterback ready to go.”
The Fighting Irish have confirmed their updated schedule, which includes the rescheduled Wheeler County contest now slated for Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. at Shamrock Bowl. Homecoming has been shifted to Oct. 17 at 3:30 p.m. when the Irish host Hawkinsville. Tickets can still be purchased online or at the gate. Come support these young men, the cheerleaders and band, as they work towards another outstanding season. Go Irish!
