Has the term "Zero-Trust" come up in your staff meetings recently? Are you clear of what it is and how it helps?

I had the opportunity to have a conversation with Nathaniel Shere about Zero Trust.

Most employees have absolutely no idea what it means for them.

Immediate perception is typically the thought of, "Dang, you don't trust me to do my job?"

or

"Why are they restricting everything?"

But in realty, it's not either of those things. Zero-trust is meant to enable you to be more efficient in your role.

If you're in sales, why grant you access to the accounting data for the organization or payroll folders, or even the financial information?

Zero Trust at is core is the act of granting each employ the permission to only access files that are necessary to do their job.

Why is it helpful?

Because you don't have to waste time searching through files/documents that have no use for your daily activities?

Have you ever taken 10mins to find a file because you couldn't remember the exact name so you typed a key phrase in the file explorer only to have dozens of documents show up that you didn't even know was there?

I have...

plenty of times...and it's a little frustrating.

Proper Zero-trust protocols help you minimize this frustration and enables you to identify the information you need, when you need it.
