It’s Time to Shift Gears:
New Right-Turn Lane Set to Transform Highway 5 and Douglas Boulevard Intersection!

A new right-turn lane is almost complete for the intersection of Highway 5 and Douglas Boulevard in Douglasville, Georgia. This improvement aims to alleviate congestion and enhance traffic flow at this busy area.

UPDATE the store is closing its doors in 2025.

Earlier this year, Big Lots filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and announced that it planned to close approximately 550 stores. The Douglasville location was listed as one of the stores slotted to close.

According to The Hill.com, on Nov. 19th multiple stores were granted a reprieve from their impending closures. Douglasville was one of those stores.

Today, The Flash went to the store to inquire about their status and a cashier told us that the store is NO LONGER CLOSING!
UPDATE: The store is indeed closing.

Great News!
A new DDS is now OPEN in Douglasville, so of course “The Flash” had to check it out for you!
We visited the location on Sat. 11/2
and it was completely empty!
A driver’s license renewal took less than 5 minutes to complete!

A new business is coming to Arbor Place Mall. That’s right… Planet Fitness is flying into our atmosphere!

The Planet Fitness website states that they will be opening a location at the old Bed Bath and Beyond location at Arbor Place Mall.

The gym is having a pre-grand opening sale for the opening of their new Arbor Place location at the end of this year.

plus taxes & fees!

Patrons get to have access to any club, bring a guest anytime, PF+ premium digital workouts, are also included! The gym is scheduled to open on or about 12/31/24!

Great news, Douglas County!
A new Department of Driver Services (DDS) office is coming to our area (by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on Earl D. Lee Blvd). This will provide a more convenient location for residents to get driver's licenses, renew registrations, and other DMV-related services. Click below to find out more!

Today is Election Day for the General Primary/Nonpartisan General Election/Special Election Runoff! Remember to vote at your designated precinct! Polls open at 7 AM and will close at 7 PM. Live updates will be broadcast on DCTV 23 and posted on the County’s website and social media platforms.

Douglasville Police Department hosted a DEA Pill Take Back today. A post on their FB page stated that they “collected 8 bags of medication with a total combined weight of 163.52 pounds”. 💊
