WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY in effect this afternoon until Noon on Monday, February 3rd for portions of southern North Dakota!

- Snow & blowing snow expected with accumulations between 2 & 5 inches.
- Plan on slippery road conditions with areas of falling & blowing snow significantly reducing visibility. Hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute. Wind chills as low as 25 below zero possible Monday morning.

Life threatening wind chills as low as 55 below zero expected.
The life-threatening wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 5 minutes.

The coldest wind chills are expected Sunday night through Monday afternoon.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 12AM CST TONIGHT FOR PORTIONS OF NORTH CENTRAL, SOUTH CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST NORTH DAKOTA.

Freezing rain. Additional ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch. Roads, bridges and overpasses slick and hazardous. Precipitation transitioning to snow overnight with total accumulations up to one inch.

SCAM ALERT

The Sheriff’s Office has taken several phone complaints today from citizens who have received scam phone calls from someone who has spoofed our phone number and is claiming to be a deputy. The “caller” is telling people they have missed jury duty at either county court or in federal court. The “caller” is asking people to send money to them so they will not be charged for missing jury duty. While the call may seem legitimate due to the local phone number it may not be.

THIS IS A SCAM!!

The Sheriff’s office will never ask you over the phone to send money. We never request money in any circumstance to be sent to us electronically or through the mail.

If you receive any phone calls like this please hang up. If you have questions call our office directly or stop by in person. We will assist you to verify any legitimate issues with the court.

**MEDIA RELEASE**

The Dickinson Police Department would like to provide an update regarding the officer-involved shooting incident that occurred last month.

Following a thorough and independent investigation conducted by the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Stark County State’s Attorney's Office has determined that the officer involved acted within the constraints of the law. Additionally, the department has completed an administrative review of the use of force associated with this incident. This review concluded that the officer's actions adhered to our established policies and procedures.

The investigation included a review of all witness statements, forensic evidence, body worn camera footage, and all other relevant facts surrounding the incident. The Dickinson PD appreciates the community’s patience throughout the investigation process.

The individual involved in this incident has been identified as David Bezek, 56, of Dickinson. Our condolences remain with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
