“When we first got involved [in 2012], the understanding in the industry was Massachusetts was what they call two deep in crew, which is shorthand that the state was capable of doing two major film projects at the same time,” said Gary Crossen, general manager of New England Studios, a Devens-based production soundstage. “Now they generally view Massachusetts as seven deep, because the number of people in the industry has increased exponentially.”

New England Studios would like to take this opportunity to congratulate everyone who worked so hard to be part of this year's Oscars presentation. Specifically, we’d like to highlight The Holdovers, which was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

Filmed in the winter of 2022, written by David Hemingson and directed by Alexander Payne, this film captured tremendous attention with its story, craft, and spirit.

This year, we had the good fortune to sit down with Amy Greene as part of our new documentary, “Dream Job,” about the growth of New England Filmmaking. She shared her journey. Amy and her producing partner, Chris Stinson, worked on The Holdovers, and she shared some wonderful insights.

Enjoy this clip, and congratulations to Amy Greene, Chris Stinson, David Hemingson, Alexander Payne, Paul Giamatti, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Matt Mania, Mike Henry, Christine Willard, and all of you who worked so hard to bring The Holdovers to the screen.
