HIGHLAND PARK, Mich.—As we approach the upcoming election, the importance of understanding where candidates stand on issues critical to our community cannot be overstated. Recognizing this need, WHPR is excited to announce a live debate featuring Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin and Mr. Hill Harper, titled “The Truth to Power: Democratic U.S. Senate Candidates Debate.” This debate will highlight the candidates' positions on vital local and national issues, particularly those impacting the Black community.
Debate Details:
Date: Friday, July 26
Time: 10:00 a.m.
Format: 45-minute, audio-only debate

Moderated live from our Highland Park studio, this debate will be a focused discussion, free from the distractions of a live audience or visual recording. The candidates will address questions and issues specifically curated to highlight their stances on matters of importance to the community.
The decision to host an audio-only debate stems from our commitment to ensuring that the conversation takes precedence over any distractions. While there will be no video recording, listeners can tune in via 88.1 FM or stream the debate live through WHPR-TV, Roku, and our social media channels.
