Weather changes always mess with me, and this fall is no different. I always ride the struggle bus as the temperatures drop, but I'm doing a good job of being kinder to myself. My mood is returning to my normal baseline, so hopefully I'll be back to sharing my adventures with more frequency.

In other news, I held this ~10 week old kitten.

Happy from Momo, who I just had to kick out of my office so I could make this post because she noticed I was taking her picture and interpreted that as an invitation to walk across my keyboard while vigorously rubbing her face into my own. Putting a cat bed on my desk has helped, but not completely resolved, this issue.

I wish everyone could be as at peace as Lefty is here after a satisfying lunch.

I'm looking for suggestions for what to name my cat colony! There are five black and white tuxedo cats, a tortoiseshell, a ginger tomcat, and two kittens (calico and gray dilute calico). I'm gaining their trust and a couple of them even let me pet them and briefly pick them up. I will need to start fundraising soon so I can get as many of them fixed as possible. There's so much to do!

Happy Caturday! What's your favorite cat breed? I have a soft spot for Siamese cats myself.

It's day 3 of my experiment where I'm not posting links or images. I've gotten far more interaction than I usually do, which falls in line with the theory that this platform prioritizes paid posts when media is involved. This is not ideal for an independent artist who needs people to see her work and know how to acquire it. I don't know how to work around this in a way that makes sense, but I want to be transparent about what I'm doing and why. I've been putting a lot of effort into making connections with other people because I want to buckle down and take this seriously. It's been difficult to find these people and for them to find me — not just here, but on most social media platforms — because we're all obfuscated under the load of unknowable algorithmic nonsense.

All of this is to say, when you see a page in your feed that you want to support, reactions and comments go a long way. I even bookmark posts that I have no reason to go back to but that simple action informs the mysterious cloud gods that this is a post worth showing to other people. Comment with gifs, emojis, and pictures even if they have no relevance to the post! These interactions help, even though it takes two seconds of your time.

I don't feel defeated, just annoyed that I'm finally in a place where I can be serious about sharing my work but the Internet is working against me if I don't participate in their monetary racket.
