Elk Grove Township provides more mental health care and wellness services than one might think a township would. The township also recently announced $620,000 in grants to local non-profits serving the township with those services. The township has worked to help provide those services for decades. Including helping to create what is now known as the Kenneth Young Center in the late 1960s and early '70s.

Elk Grove Township officials Tuesday (Feb. 18) announced 29 grant awards for local non-profit social services agencies totaling $620,000, with a focus on mental health and wellness programs.
