Congratulations to Venkat Pthuru who went 4-0 to win the January 14th Youth Chess tournament at the Grimes Community Center. Ana Denison and Carsten Wright tied for second at 3-1 with Jacob Suresh and Aditya Joglekar a half point back at 2.5-1.5.

Congratulations to Tabito Brown who went 5-0 to win the December 10th Youth Chess tournament at the Grimes Community Center. Palak Kapadia finished second with a 4-1 record with Logan Banh, Carsten Wright, Mason Porter, and Jacob Skow sharing 3rd place.

Congratulations to Venkat Pathuru and Tabito Brown, who shared first place at Central Iowa Chess's youth tournament at the Grimes Community Center on November 12th, 2017 with 3 wins and a draw. Abhi Kayithi and Jerand Chase tied for third with 3 wins and a loss.

Congratulations to Ana Denison who won the October 15th youth chess tournament at the Grimes Community Center with a perfect 4-0 score. Second place was shared by Anhi Kayithi, Mason Porter, Carsten Wright, and Jerand Chase who all had 3-1 scores.

Congratulations to Mason Porter, who went 5-0 to win the Central Iowa Chess Youth Tournament at the Grimes Community Center on September 24th. Amogh Jithendra finished second and there was a 5 way tie for third between Abhi Kayithi, Laura Chen, Prabhas Sunkara, Carsten Wright, and Logan Banh.

Congratulations to the champions of centraliowachess.com's April youth tournament: Mrtihuul Mrithuul Madanprasad, Alex Reed (morning unrated), Abhi Kayithi (afternoon unrated), and Palak Kapadia and Alex Reed (afternoon rated).
