KDPSradio The former page for Grand View Radio, which stopped operating on Dec. 12, 2019. It has taken over the production of Kids Radio Mania on weekends.

The website link is to Des Moines Public Schools KDPS radio, which is not affiliated with Grand View radio. Grand View Radio stopped operating in December of 2019.

Hard to believe it was 15 years ago this group of 2010 Grand View seniors went through their professional interviews in the TV studio for Career Seminar class. Most of them experienced working as DJs on KDPS and the guy in the middle is Mark Wright, who was our radio program director.

Remenber the old “DJ of the Month Award” that Mr. W handed out? Jake Thompson and Jeff Fitzgerald certainly do, because they had a photo taken to commemorate it! This was just one month before Mr. Winzenburg had to leave the college to have his leg cancer operated on, seven years ago this week.

Remember when KDPS Radio was all original vinyl played on turntables and cart tapes were shoved into machines? Grand View College radio Program Director Eric Hanson is shown in the office next to the radio control room around 1994, which later became Mr. Winzenburg’s office for over twenty years.

Remembering the late, great Grand View Radio, as another school year comes to an end. We celebrate our hundreds of fantastic DJs and being the state’s biggest award-winning college radio station, including the photo of the 2014 ICMA winners. Long live Grand View Radio in our hearts!
