This past weekend, a few members of the NJ Clean River Crew worked on removing garbage from the Rockaway River in Denville, including over 130 tires! Good people doing good things, focusing on the New Jersey rivers, and we love that! They have been in Denville many times before, and we’re grateful for their tireless efforts. A quiet little scene downtown this morning before we welcome lots of people here for a fun weekend. Whether you’re attending the country and BBQ festivities at Diamond Spring Brewing this afternoon, the first San Gennaro festival tomorrow, hitting the farmers market, the tennis court, participating in a pickleball fundraiser, grabbing a bite at our amazing restaurants or something completely different, there’s lots to enjoy. The Denville Police Department is hiring for officers to join their team. Applicants must be older than 18 years old but no older than 35 years old, have good moral character, and be in good health. A minimum of 60 college credits from an accredited college or university are required, with preference to those who have a B.A./B.S. degree.

Interested applicants should visit the Denville Police Department page for complete details. The deadline to apply is no later than 11:59 p.m. on October 2.

The countdown is ON to Denville’s first San Gennaro festival this Sunday and we can’t wait. While nothing can top the magic of the original Feast of San Gennaro in NYC, we’re hoping to bring you a little taste of that magic to downtown Denville.

🇮🇹We will be meeting at The Pasta Shop on First Avenue to begin a procession with the statue to where the festival starts (near Denville Dog). St Mary’s Church will be leading the procession, along with , Sons of Italy and local Unico members. You’re welcome to join!
🇮🇹 With nearly sixty vendors (and 24 of them dedicated to FOOD), you can eat yourself silly from one end to the other! Lots of Italian merch and crafts too!
🇮🇹 A beer and wine garden will be available with several selections of Italian beer, wine and cocktails from our friends at (everyone is an honorary Italian on Sunday!)
🇮🇹 the will be on hand selling 50/50 tickets
🇮🇹 we will have an assortment of music throughout the day, kicking it off with a strolling accordion player from 12-2, an Italian orchestra from 2-3:30 and a DJ from 3:30-6:00 pm

Denville is one of nine New Jersey towns claiming that a new affordable housing law places an unfair burden on suburban areas while benefiting urban areas, and they are suing to block it. The law was signed in March to address the state’s affordable housing shortage.

The Denville Water Utility will start hydrant flushing the water system in the Township on Monday. The entire flushing process will take about 4-6 weeks and be performed on weekdays from 5 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

During this period, residents are encouraged to wash their dark clothes first, as there may be some minor water discoloration, but the Township advised that the water is safe to drink.

The Executive Director of the Downtown Denville BID joined the Denville Rotary at lunch today to share a bit about what Downtown Denville is up to. The organization continues to be dedicated to supporting small businesses downtown and they are currently working with the town on reviewing and (hopefully) adjusting the B1 ordinance, which currently allows just restaurant and retail businesses to be in first floor spaces in the downtown district. The Downtown Denville BID also continues to partner with Main Street America for new ideas in downtown improvement.

The NJ Sharing Network visited the Denville Rotary today to speak on the importance of being an organ or tissue donor. There are over 100,000 waiting on the transplant list, and 4000 of them are in New Jersey. YOU can make the difference to save or enhance someone’s life with your selfless donation.

About last night... 🚘

You never know who you’re going to run into while making a stop at and last night it was the Natural Glass Corvette Association, one of the largest Corvette clubs in the northeast.

If you happened to drive by, you would have seen over 20 corvettes! NGCA is a family club and they are very active in the community. So proud to call Denville “Home Sweet Home.” Can you spot your street on the map?

It may have been a grey and dreary day today, but it felt good to breathe in the fresh air and explore a bit downtown, even with the brief drizzle. Many shops had their sandwich board signs out, Wish and Mutts on Broadway had sale items outside, and we feel the promise of Spring in the air!

Before the snow cleared, we stopped by Muriel Hepner Park for a nice walk. It’s always good to take in the sights and sounds around town, especially on beautiful days like that one… I mean listen to those birds chirping! We hope you’re able to take all of the little things in, too ✨

Having beautiful and neat handwriting is one thing, but being able to write upside down is another! Stop in to Write On Gifts on Broadway for super cute and personalized gifts for kids of every age. ✨

The truck from Wreaths Across America arrived this morning, being guided down Broadway by First Responders. We loved the gentleman on the left who saluted each vehicle in the procession as they passed by. The ceremony will be at the Denville Cemetery at noon on Saturday. Please come if you can. 💛
