Finding parking in busy downtown communities can sometimes be a challenge, and Denville is no stranger to that. But let’s talk facts … just throughout the downtown area, Denville has a wide variety of parking spaces available, including permit spots, street parking and several parking lots. Except for the permit spaces, all the parking is FREE, which is not always the case in other towns.

Just how many spaces ARE there? Just in the three hour spaces in the parking lots, and the spaces on Diamond Spring Road and Broadway, there are a total of 417 free spaces! 🙌🏻 That’s a whole lot of opportunities to come to town and keep your spending dollars local. Add in the permit spaces and that’s another 197 spots.

While it may take a loop or two around to find a parking space sometimes, particularly on a busy warm Saturday or during the holidays, there is always a free space to be had. Especially if you don’t mind walking a tiny bit.

Free parking is one of the many things that keeps the small town feel … just make sure to mind the clock if you’re in a timed space. 💫

Did you know that the Denville Library has a Spice Club? You can register ahead of time to receive and pick up the monthly spice, and when you do you’ll get a few recipes to try it out on. It’s a great way to get introduced to new spice profiles that you may not be as familiar with.

The Spice Club has been going on for about two years now. Be sure to sign up for the library’s newsletter so you’ll get a heads up once next month’s spice becomes available. 💫

School psychologist Jonathan Haidt dives deep into the topic of teen mental illness, and in this book he shares steps that parents, teachers, schools, tech companies, and the government can take to end the epidemic of mental illness and restore a more gentle childhood.

The teaching staff in the Denville Township school district has been reading and studying this important book and the administration is launching an upcoming book study for the community as well.

Many have wondered what’s going on with the St. Francis property since the demo happened quite awhile ago. At a recent Town Council meeting, the Mayor indicated that Springpoint no longer plans to develop senior housing property there and may choose to sell it. If they do so, the Township has noted they’re desirable to purchase the property. While anything is long from being formalized, that would be a favorable outcome to this. Though it was a shame to see the historic and gorgeous building come down, there are many reports that it was in such disrepair that it could not have been saved. Stay tuned.

Playground goers rejoice! Denville Township has received a $70,000 grant from the state and they have begun renovating the Denbrook playground near Route 10.

Focused on circuit training and class sizes limited to a maximum of 24 people, you’ll find a mix of traditional strength training and HIIT cardio. Want to try them out without committing? A beautiful day for the Wreaths Across America at the Denville Cemetery to honor our veterans. Wreaths were placed on the graves of fallen heroes to remember and honor their sacrifice. Make sure to stop by if you can! 🫶🏻

The Denville Rotary enjoyed their annual holiday luncheon yesterday with beautiful classic holiday songs sung from the Morris County Academy of Performing Arts (all high school Juniors). The Rotary always welcomes new volunteers. If you’re interested in learning more, reach out. ✨

We thought the award-winning Morris Knolls marching band deserved their very own spot on our feed. It was a beautiful day for a parade, and to celebrate their accomplishments. ✨

Everyone loves a small town parade, and many braved the chilly winds to celebrate Denville’s today! We saw everything from Batman and dignitaries to the Girl Scouts, the Morris Knolls Band, many classic cars and so much more. A huge thank you to the Denville Recreation Department, the volunteer parade committee and everyone that participated today. Now that Santa has arrived at SantaLand, the holidays are officially underway!

Visit the Holiday Open House in downtown Denville from 5-9 pm tonight for selfies with Santa, ice skating, holiday rides, and more! Hope to see you there!
