Sean Terror (Sean Roybal) a really good friend of Doe, had an idea to start a record label. Sean decided to name the record label Upset Records. The reasoning for the Upset name is that Sean thought of himself as the underdog, Sean once stated that he wanted to “Upset” the game! At that very moment Upset records was born. Doe was a young aspiring rap music artist in 1998, recording and doing shows
with Concrete poetry. All the support and love from the fans, encouraged Doe to continue to work hard and make more music. Tone Wrex was a local Denver producer with a heavy sound that Sean and Doe loved! The three guys got together and formed Upset Records. The first release on Upset Records was a body of work from Doe, titled “Cold Blooded”. The first week “Cold Blooded” album scans produced interest from major labels and various Major artist. The “Cold Blooded” album scanned 225 copies in one week from record stores in the Denver Metro area including but not limited to Pirates, Budget cd’s and tapes, Angelos and Musicland. That was a very proud moment for Upset Records. In 2005 Upset Records flew out to the Bay area and signed an exclusive distribution deal with City Hall Records located in San Rafael. Following the signing Upset went on to release 6 new albums. Then tragedy followed and The CEO of the label Doe was incarcerated and that bad situation sent the label into a downward spiral. The Chief Officer was released in December 2008 and started building the Upset Records brand back up by getting a new studio, recording great music. Upset has made multiple songs over the years with major artist such as Mac Dre, E-40, C-bo etc. Since 1998 Upset Records have added various artist to expand their horizons. Mackadoe, Ant, Collision, Marciano and Roc Haran. Upset Records is Re-launching its brand/label and has just released the album “Colorado Smoke” and Mackadoe “Real Talk”.
