We walked into Do the Bang Thing Salon located on hip Broadway street with a pep in our step. The location of Do The Bang Thing Salon is incredibly unique; adjacent to music scene gem The Brutal Poodle and steps away from the Overland neighborhood, with plenty of people-watching spots from inside the salon. Upon first entering the elegant space, we were greeted warmly by their operations manager who took my temperature and showed me to a sparkling clean restroom to wash my hands before my appointment began. Small touches like these during the time of COVID-19 are wonderful and I applaud all the staff for constantly sanitizing while still maintaining a warm and comforting environment. Spacious and airy, the salon features plush salon chairs, personalized mirrors with your name on them (I know!), and huge street-facing windows for perusing and thinking about your future endeavors. Or just judging people passing, whatever you prefer.

One of the reasons I chose Do The Bang Thing Salon is their beautifully presented hair coloring options on their website and social media pages. They can literally offer all the colors of the rainbow—seriously, look at their photos! Just some of the hair color options include highlights, babylights, hair color, balayage highlights, and fashion-color highlights, just to name a few. If you aren’t looking for color processing, this full treatment salon also offers Brazillian blowouts, hair extensions, and of course, your classic haircuts for men and women.

I chose the fashion highlights because I wanted to add a pop of color to my drab and flat hair that also seriously needed a cut. After a fruitful conversation with my stylist, we chose a combination of an eggplant purple and a rusty red to create some “peekaboo” highlights. These highlights were placed underneath my top layer of hair to create a sort of “party below, corporate on top” look, which I live for on those endless Zoom meetings.

Do The Bang Thing Salon is a wondrous place of color, possibilities, and endless creative options. We absolutely recommend where all are welcome!

To check out bison, head west from Denver on I-70. Look for the "Buffalo Herd Overlook" sign and take Exit 254. You may see some right from the road or you may have to take one of the hikes in Genesee Park to search for them.

The first two In-N-Out Burger locations in Colorado are opening Friday, the company announced. Beginning November 20, 2020, hamburgers, shakes, and fries will be served in Colorado as the first locations open in Colorado Springs and Aurora, officials stated.

Now that school is starting back up, we all know many children participate in remote or at-home learning this fall.
