The one thing that I'm gonna teach you today to have a successful podcast in 2023 is that as a podcast host, you must be willing to ask your guests.
Questions. Look, at the end of the day, the only way that we're gonna create value for our audiences is by getting the best out of our guests. Now, so often people feel afraid or in fear of asking the hard questions, but the worst thing that your guest will ever say is either no, or I don't want to answer that, which is fine, but more importantly, if.
You want to create context in which helps change somebody's life, business, relationship, body, mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, sexual health. The thing that you have to be willing to do is push your guests to be their greatest by asking them questions that other hosts will not ask them. So that my friend is my advice for you today.

What's up, my friends! I'm Michael Anthony, the founder of podsofpurpose.com, where we help entrepreneurs use a podcast to create massive change in the world. The number one thing that I can tell you today is that if you want to have a successful podcast, you need to engage your audience.
People want to know that you're connecting with them and engaging with your audience can work in a couple of different ways.
One, you can ask them to have reviews on your show, leave them on iTunes or on Apple Podcasts, and then you can read their reviews on your intros or outros.
Number two, is you can create a form on your website where they can email and submit and give you feedback about the show. Now, of course, take that with a grain of salt, everybody has an opinion.
Number three is connect and respond to them on social media.
Make sure you're responding to DMs, likes, comments, and even follow them back.

That said, my friends, people ask me all the time, what kind of mic are you using? And yes, it is the Joe Rogan microphone. It is the SM7B by Sure hooked up to a RoadCaster Pro that is running through my MacBook, that I'm using a Black Magic Design ATEM mini, and my fuji to run this recording right now. However, let me tell you this, the most important thing about podcasting is actually content. Don't get caught up in microphones and cameras. Get caught up in becoming a great interviewer, a great guest, a great storyteller and use and leverage your experience to help shape and change someone's life.
Look, the equipment's gonna come and go. There's always gonna be the next best thing, but as long as you sound decent with a pair of plug-in headphones and a zoom recorder, which I have used in the past, that's all that matters.Â
Start where you are. Don't worry about investing in all of the things yet, and instead worry about becoming the best interviewer or guest that you can be. That's my one tip for you today.

People ask me all the time, how do I get more listeners?
You have to do the number one thing in podcast, and that is you have to tell people about your podcast. It is insane to me how often I talk to people. I'm like, did you post content? Did you hit your newsletter? Did you share it on social? Did you have your guests share it? Did you do all these things that are at your disposal to give people permission to come and listen to your show?
Most people don't actually know that you have a podcast because you haven't told them, you haven't shared enough content, you haven't posted about it all the time, and people are worried, they're like, am I sharing too much? Am I telling too much? The answer is always no. And here's whyâĻ
Social media content moves so fast that billions of pieces are created every day and only 1% of your organic audience is actually seeing it.
So, you need to be posting frequently, constantly, and with intention, that's how you grow your show.

What's up, my friends! I'm Michael Anthony, the founder of podsofpurpose.com, and we help entrepreneurs who are purpose-based create podcasts to change the world. Look, one of the most important things that you can do is have a framework for the content that you want to create.
Most people miss the mark in their podcast because they have no idea what they're going to be talking about before they show up to the recording. What I do with my guests is they have to fill out a form and we do a pre-call interview so that we can make sure when they come on to think on broken podcasts that we are serving their highest interests, my highest interests as a host, and most importantly, the highest interests of our guest.
And so, what I do is I ask them, what are the five topics of strategy that you want to come and talk about, what's your bio, what's your background. And then we have a pre-interview where we lay out, start to finish the flow of the conversation. So, when you create a framework, you will be successful.

You have to define your target audience.
My friends, nothing is more important than knowing exactly who you're talking to as a business owner, an entrepreneur, or a startup founder. If you are in the wrong niche and you're talking to the wrong audience, you will never have success. So, you have to have clarity about who you're talking to, why you're talking to them and what it is that you want them to learn when you are talking to them.
One of the biggest reasons people launch podcasts and other people don't listen is because they haven't created clarity and a niche in a way that the market will respond. So, if you're confused about where to begin, the first thing you need to figure out is who are you talking to?
