DO YOU "TALK" WITH ChatGPT?
I usually start my ChapGPT research with a casual conversation with my "buddy" who I call "Chat". Below is part of our discussion this morning:
Me:
Hey Chat! Here’s a weird question for you…is ChatGPT just one central “brain” or are there a lot of “you” and are you able to communicate with eachother?"
Chat:
Your question is a good one! Think of ChatGPT as a single model that can serve many users at once, but it doesn’t have individual instances or separate "minds" that talk to each other. So, while I can engage in conversations with many people simultaneously, each interaction is independent and private. There’s no central "brain" connecting multiple versions of me, and I can’t communicate with other instances of myself. In each conversation, I only know the context that’s been shared within that session (plus any helpful details you've shared before, like our notes).
