The Typical Filipino Food on Special Occasions (Salo-salo)!

"Salo-salo" refers to a traditional Filipino gathering or get-together where food is shared among family and friends. It's often characterized by communal dining, where dishes are laid out for everyone to enjoy. These gatherings often celebrate milestones, holidays, or simply the joy of togetherness. Filipinos take pride in their hospitality, making salo-salo a warm and festive experience, often filled with laughter and storytelling alongside the delicious cuisine!

Most Filipinos don’t like to be exposed to the sun, so we always use umbrella or wear long sleeve shirts to protect us !

Had to go to work @ Ayer MA today and we needed to go to Page Hilltop School but we can’t get to it. We tried several roads that waze suggested but every time , we hit a road closure . Because we needed to give dental care to the kids @ that school we persevered and found someone local to direct us to a road (Springhill) that will eventually bring us to the school. We went thru deep waters, drove under a few downed trees and wires hanging or holding the trees up. #06/06/2025

Today, I remember my extraordinary husband, a man whose love knew no bounds. He was the epitome of kindness, always putting others before himself. His caring nature touched everyone around him, and his understanding heart offered solace during life’s challenges.

With every act of generosity, he reminded me of the beauty in giving, whether it was through a kind word, a comforting embrace, or helping a stranger in need. He had a remarkable ability to see the light in others and bring out their best qualities. His laughter filled our home with joy, and his wisdom guided me through life’s storms.

Life without him (10 years today) has been a journey of both heartache and reflection. The silence left in his absence often feels overwhelming, and I miss our shared moments—the small talks, laughter, and simple everyday joys. There are days when I find solace in memories; I hear his laughter in my thoughts and see his smile in the sunset.

Yet, I also face the reality of life without my partner, navigating the world as a single soul once again. It is a path filled with both sorrow and growth. While I carry the weight of loss, I also cherish the lessons he imparted: to love fiercely, to be generous of spirit, and to approach life with an open heart.

Though he is no longer physically by my side, his spirit resides within me. I celebrate his life by continuing to live fully, embracing every moment while striving to honor his memory every day. I find strength in our love, knowing that it transcends beyond the confines of this earth.

As I reflect on our time together, I remain grateful for each moment we shared. I will carry his love with me always, lighting my path as I navigate this challenging chapter of my life.

Planting an Asian Pear tree in Cape Cod Spring Weather! This tree will hopefully bear fruit in August. Used a bag of coast of maine compost mix and 2 cups of biotone for a 5 gallon asian pear tree. Had to dig a hole as deep as the container and twice as wide for more room to grow. #
