Our first Silver Award work day is in the books! The girls did an amazing job and worked so well together. Watch for the Denmark Press to feature an article about our girls! They were interviewed and had pictures taken. We will be working again on Sunday (weather permitting) during our meeting so bring your shovels, gloves and a water bottle!

Hi GS Families,
Well, we are off and running in this unusual start to the Girl Scout year! At our first meeting we celebrated the girl’s Bronze Award accomplishment. If your daughter was not there we will present them with their award at our next meeting.
The girls are now working towards earning their Silver Award. The new Girl Scout meeting has been graciously donated by Joe and Jessica Terrien. To show our gratitude the girls have decided to improve the building by doing landscaping around the building as their Silver Award Project in making the world a better place. This project will involve a lot of muscle work to get everything cleaned up and ready to plant. With that the girls are encouraged to sign up for a work time slot. They will need to bring a water bottle, work gloves, a shovel and dressed to do work.
Our first work day will be:
Tuesday September 29th 5-7

There will be many more times to sign up after this date. I am looking for about 4 girls for this first date. Please email me back if this works so I can schedule the girls.

We also discussed our trip to Savannah which will be happening March 2022. We sent home a flyer from EF Tours who is the official travel agent of the Girl Scouts. This is one option. I have reached out to other leaders who have done this trip for other options. The EF tour is pricey- $2300 for each girl but it is all inclusive. This includes flights, hotel, all meals, ground transport, tickets to events, like a marina, dolphin tour, ghost tour, Civil War reenactment and a tour of the Juliet Lowe house/museum, the founder of Girl Scouts. They allow for several payment plan options, a Go-Fund me type of page that the girls can share for donations. This would require a lot of fund raising which we have several upcoming and a ton of ideas from the girls.
The other alternative is pricing everything on our own. I think it would be great to have a parent informational meeting following our next meeting to brain storm and talk in person about our options.

Fall Product Sales are now underway. We initially thought that they didn’t include Magazine information. Apparently, everything is now on-line. If you have questions please reach out to Aprille Calewarts our Fall Product Mom at 920-737-2191. Thanks again Aprille for doing this! If your daughter was not there please set up a time to get your Fall Product materials.

Our next meeting will be October 11th 10:30-12pm.

Thanks,
Jen and Denise
