Today is D-Day!

What an amazing generation the WW2 generation was. My Grandfather is also my hero, he served in both WW2 and Korea and was awarded 2 Bronze Stars during the liberation the Philippines.

He fought on more aircraft carriers than I can count, received many bronze stars for battle and retired after over 25 years in the Navy. I am honored that my middle name is his first name.

He stood about 6 ft tall and weighed 160 on a heavy day and was a true leader of men.

He was fearless and strong and I wish I would have had more time with him when I finially figured out who he was as a man and what he did for freedom.
That’s who these men were in the greatest generation.

Today we remember the enormous cost of D-Day and the bravery of not only those who stormed Normandy but of an entire generation of Americans.

This one dropping on Friday’s drop of Local Leaders the Podcast Louisiana with Congressman Garret Graves reminds me that life is all about the conversations you have and the Impact you make on others.

I finally got to thank him face to face for the fighting he has done and continues to do for those of us who were survivors of 2016.

It was important for me to do that, while Congressman Graves looks at that as his job, his leadership made such an Impact in our community, he was the right guy at the right time for us.

Actions matter, what leaders do when you need them the most matter and I am forever grateful and thankful.

It was a truly an honor to have him on.
