Sometimes, it is in our own self-acceptance that we truly discover who we are and are thus able to embrace all of our delicate intricacies and complexities. This in and of itself allows us to then decide on who it is we truly wish to become and blossom into that version of ourselves in the most beautiful ways.

This poem is a testament to that and is thus one that I am perhaps the most proud of.

Good morning, all.

So… We know what it’s going to look and feel like for the next 4 years.

What do we do?

We have several choices: Weep and moan and bitch and cry and stop living. That’s a choice. Or… Do whatever we know is best for ourselves with the resources we have now in order to secure better lives for ourselves.

Alternatively, continue to build ourselves regardless.

Yes, this means that some things we’ve been fighting for will still need to be taken seriously and fought for even harder. You know what I’m talking about. Keep advocating, writing in to your elected officials, voting, and showing the f**k up.

As far as talking to me about it? Imma go with “Don’t.” Don’t even try. Because, at this point, I don’t care, and I’m here to create as much harmony and peace in my life as much as I can regardless of the state of the world.
