LPSO: Homicide Investigation, Suspect in Custody

On 10/12/24, deputies with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Linda Lee Dr located in Denham Springs in re: shots fired earlier today.

Sheriff Jason Ard says, ‘Upon our arrival, deputies located the body of 44 year old Joshua C. Smith. LPSO Uniform Patrol & LPSO Detectives worked together to gather evidence leading to the identity of a suspect in this case: 44 year old Michael Rogillio of St. Francisville. With the assistance of the West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office & the St. Francisville Police Department, Rogillio was located & taken into custody without incident. Our investigation continues at this hour.’

Rogillio is being booked in West Feliciana. Rogillio will eventually make his way to the Livingston Parish Detention Center for processing on a charge of Second Degree Murder.

*Special thanks to our law enforcement partners at the West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office & the St. Francisville Police Department for their assistance with this case.
