Max was surrendered to the SPCA in June due to a new baby having allergies. He is 4 years old and has lived with a cat and did well coexisting. He is good with other dogs, lived with kids, is good in the car and is house trained. He loves toys and chasing balls.

As a lifelong resident of Philadelphia, and a 52-year resident of my present home, I read with great interest the report by Mark Zimmaro on the upcoming rise in property taxes ("Property taxes are on the rise," Aug. 14). It was with great sympathy that I read Mark Zimmaro’s report on the recent protest to make bike riding safer in the city (“Cyclists demand protected bike lanes,” July 31). All this was motivated by the recent deaths of two cyclists, Dr. Barbara Friedes, 30, and Christopher Cabrera, 18, who were struck while riding on Philadelphia streets.
