Rotary Club President Abram Rodriguez and Del Rio Parks Foundation Trails Committee Lead Jake Carsten presented their proposal for the Rotary Club Pump Track to Council Members during the January 14, 2025 City Council Meeting.

“We’re here to request your approval to begin planning, fundraising and preparing for the installation of a biking area at the public park next to the Joe Ramos Center,” Rodriguez began. “The bike area will provide children and families with a safe, fun, and accessible space to learn and enjoy biking.” “It encourages physical activity, supports outdoor recreation and offers alternatives to screen time, a priority for many parents.”

Good morning, Del Rio! We have some exciting news!

Originally a volunteer, Niko excels at production here at the Connect Del Rio Studios. Niko is responsible for managing the onset organization and ensuring production stability behind the scenes. With multiple guests visiting our studio, he helps welcome and ensure they are prepared for their on-air time. When you see transitions and guests appearing on time during CDR24 Morning News Show; that is Niko ensuring production stability! Niko also provides insight into reaching different audiences and takes on different roles when needed.

Although we already consider him a huge part of our team, we are super excited to share that Niko Escobedo will officially be joining the Connect Del Rio Team as our Production Manager/Social Media Assistant.

The Rotary Club, along with Del Rio Parks Foundation Trails Committee Lead, Jake Carsten, will be presenting their proposal for the pump track project to the city council at the January 14, 2025 council meeting, in the hopes of gaining site approval for the pump track which they plan to build adjacent to the Del Rio Skate Garden located at 1101 W. De la Rosa St. in San Felipe.

The potential pump track will be designed and constructed by Alliance Action Sports Experts, a full - service design and construction company specializing in action sports facilities and outdoor tourism development that has helped communities all over the world to build mountain bike trails, skateparks, snow parks, pump tracks, skills parks, and urban parks.

DISTRICT MONITORING NEW WEATHER UPDATE

A new weather advisory was released this afternoon indicating the possibility of freezing rain from 6 a.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday. While classes are expected to continue as scheduled, the District will continue to monitor the conditions and will send a new update no later than 6 a.m. tomorrow morning. Working parents should be assured that if the District implements any changes to the school day, school personnel will be on duty during regular business hours to accept any students at the start of the school day.
