Just a reminder...

Today The Arc of Walton County is closed as stated yesterday. We are expecting tropical storm conditions which may consist of bands of rains, Gusty winds and possibly power outages. Everything is closed and our group home is safely sheltering in place. Walton Emergency Management is keeping us well informed. We will make an announcement later on this page regarding our intent to reopen Tuesday. Thank you to all have kept us in their thoughts and prayers.

Update:

Sunday, 10:45 AM, The Arc of Walton County Adult Day Training Program will be closed on Monday due to timing of Hurricane Irma in our area. Please use your emergency numbers (911) if there is an emergency at your Home.
All group home residents are safe and will continue to shelter in place. All staff assigned/scheduled to work at the Group Home have been communicated with and need to report to work tomorrow as assigned.
We will be making a determination for Tuesday as advisories are updated . It will be posted on pages belonging to The Arc of Walton County. Walton County Schools are closed Monday.

Sunday 8 AM, CST. Hurricane Irma is just over lower Keys with core coming into Southwest FL and South FL on East coast is receiving wind gusts and heavy bands of rain. Irma is still a strong storm, cat 4. We are not certain what the exact path is going to be but we encourage all to be prepared for some wind and bands of rain, possible power loss. Once it starts here, Stay indoors during the storm. All staff and clients need to watch this page for up to date information.

So proud of our Arc family. After a successful day at Arc Gardens Customer Appreciation Day, we are still working!!! Helping out with 3rd Annual Pig Roast to raise funds to renovate The Chautauqua Hall of Brotherhood and create a universal design allowing all to enjoy the historical beauty. Way to go Lisa, Stephen, Chris, Ruth, Bonnie, Judy, Brenda, Rob .!!!

Good morning! Today, Saturday, April 22, is Earth Day! I cannot think of anything nicer to do than join our Arc Gardens program for our annual Spring Customer Appreciation Day from 8 to 1 at 1408 Highway 83 N. We have all of our beautiful plants ready for purchase, and a baked goods auction, and raffle. Oh, don't forget the free hotdogs, hamburgers and chips and drinks starting around 10:45. The employees at Arc Gardens are paid as they learn about Horticulture and the world of work. Come out and see what "Ability" looks like! Meet all of the Arc Gardens team and Ms. Ruth. It will make your day.
