We’re inspired by your story, the underdog.
We all start out with the odds stacked against us. To think of it, I’m not sure the odds are really ever in our favor as business owners. Most people can’t bear that weight over time, or at all.
It’s the ones that know what they’re fighting for. It’s the ones that have a great team working with them. It’s the ones that have a community & mentors helping them navigate the throws of life and business.
If you feel like you’re lacking that community, that support, please reach out. We’re here for you and with you.
Cheers to the underdog ❤️🔥
No Risk is the Greatest Risk
"By not taking risks you increase your risk profile." 📉
For learning & budding entrepreneurs, you have to put your risk into perspective. Each business launched has inherent risks, some greater than others. But how do you balance that risk-to-reward ratio?
Joe makes a great point for entrepreneurs to ask themselves, "What is the worst that can happen?"
👉🏼 This demystifies failure. If we know the worst-case scenario is that we have to go get a job, our confidence in taking that risk can assist in achieving the opportunity at hand.
No risk, no reward 😎 🚀

🗣️“The process needs to work for the people.”
As a start-up or small business your systems can work for you or against you…
Systems are made for productivity and efficiency, but what happens when your business structure or your clients outgrow your system? It then ceases to serve you and becomes a bottleneck.
It’s important to regularly assess your system efficiency, and even its scalability, to ensure the thing created to help you grow doesn’t instead hold you back.
•••
Our team at Holy Hill implements a System Optimization process in which we rate an individual task or system 1-5, with 5 being the least efficient or most unproductive. If any teammate scores a task or system with a 4 or 5, we send a message to the team which triggers a 30-min team mtg with necessary parties within 10 days to work the problem.
As Small Businesses, we don’t have time to wait to fix inefficiencies. It can come at the cost of your team, your clients, and your business as a whole. 🧰

🔔 Flexible companies last!!!
As a growing company, we each have to be aware of the trends of our target audience. Whether that’s behavior, association, or desire - each change gives us a new opportunity to better serve our clients/customers and outlast competition.
You listen & adjust because you care about your audience.
BlackBerry is a great example, as Drake quotes 'Think Again' by Adam Grant:
👉🏽 BlackBerry was once the dominant force in mobile technology. If you’re old enough to have had one of these devices, you know how revolutionary it was at that time. ❌ The problem they failed to recognize was the industry was changing. Their audience fell in love with TOUCH SCREEN!
📱Because they failed to adapt, and they were committed to their product (buttons in their phone), they went under and were beat by their agile and more aware competitors.
Episode 1 of the Double Click Podcast Season 3 is PACKED with valuable knowledge pertaining to small businesses scaling, how to hire in a growing company, how to grow your audience on social media, and more.
Stay tuned for the release of the full conversation between Drake & Joe Teo, Co-Founder & CEO of @heyorca!

Creating & Protecting Vision for Your Company
Our vision gives us direction and accountability. Not only to the level of excellence required to achieve this vision on a day-to-day basis, but also to not being distracted.
As a small business, we get excited at the thought of NEW. New practices, services, products, etc. However, if NEW doesn't directly align with our vision it is a distraction.
We exist to help businesses establish a story of legacy for their brand and to simply generate more revenue for each of them. This is our focus. It sounds simple, but it allows us to be hyper-focused on a specific task to maximize our effectiveness in the space we have chosen.
Joe Carr, Owner of Serenity Kids, outlines his way of achieving and protecting vision for his company:
💛 Joe recommends finding the way that fits you best in rooting your vision in something bigger. For him, it is his spirituality.
🤝 "Relationships are key.": There is no growth without a team. How you treat people and how you motivate a team is the best work you can do. There is an impact inherently in this focus alone.
🔝 Leadership starts from the top: How you lead your team and steward the vision is a key responsibility of entrepreneurs, that otherwise can leave a team in dismay and confusion. This requires a deep sense of self-awareness as a business owner to hold yourself accountable to your vision and to your team.
How important is it for you to maintain a vision for your team, and how do you protect that vision?

Creative has to be built for conversion. 📍
Every piece we put out to our communities has to have alignment with a strategy that leads our followers to an ideal action. For us, that’s a website form fill or booked meeting.
🧠 Without the awareness of your end goal in creating the 'creative assets' like website, social media content, emails, etc you can’t quantify how productive that effort is. If you can’t quantify your efforts, how can you optimize them?
💵 🚮Creating the assets that fuel our marketing strategies can be so time consuming and expensive. If we aren’t tracking the effectiveness of our efforts we’re burning time and money.
What can you do to make the most of your creative efforts in marketing?
1. Know what your ideal form of conversion is with any given piece of your marketing (Conversion is the action you want your followers to take after seeing your post/email/website/etc).
2. Learn to track & report which creative pieces perform best in regards to your ideal conversion.
3. Optimize your content based on your reporting. See what works and what doesn’t, and adjust.
4. Stop spending needless time and money on stuff that doesn’t work.
