The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the publics assistance in locating the below pictured 1987 John Deere model 540D skidder stolen from Westford on April 15th 2024 at around 0700 hours. It has been seen in the Westford and Maryland areas.
If you have information on this crime or the location of the skidder contact the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office at 607-547-4273 and refer to case # 24-2090.

To Our Valued Suppliers:

I am happy to announce that effective Monday, January 29, 2024 the gate price for Pine Pulp will be increased to $30.00 per ton. Additionally, the price of Processor Firewood will be increased to $52.00 per ton; an updated price sheet is attached to this email.

While the news is all good on demand, some quality concerns have arisen, particularly as it pertains to Pine pulp. Our specifications for roundwood pulp have not changed much over the last 20 years or so, and can be found at the bottom of our price and specification sheet. Our minimum requirements for roundwood pulp are:

MINIMUM LENGTH: 12 FEET
MINIMUM DIAMETER: 5 INCHES
MAXIMUM DIAMETER: 24 INCHES
FRESH CUT FROM LIVING TREES
RING DEBARKER QUALITY**

Subject: We are not purchasing Soft Maple at this time

Due to unstable market conditions and weak sales, we are going to have to shut off our purchasing of soft maple effective this Friday May 26th, 2023.
We anticipate this being a short-term situation and will reevaluate our needs for soft maple after the 4th of July shut down.
We hope to resume purchasing soft maple shortly thereafter.
In the meantime, we will continue to buy red oak.
We are sorry to have to do this, but we have an oversupply of inventory at this time, and we have to make this temporary adjustment.
