It's new book release day! 🇳🇱
Leaving behind his Dutch wooden shoes Henry Broekhoff traveled from his native Netherlands to New York City in 1965 to pursue a dream of creating and operating a successful restaurant. He may have left his home but who he was journeyed with him. His story is chronicled in vivid description in this memoir, "Hanging Up My Wooden Shoes".
From his early career days of being an "intent observer" as a hotel restaurant busboy to achieving success as a Massachusetts inn proprietor, Broekhoff details a career in hospitality, where college degrees are helpful but the entrees of hands-on apprenticeships, achievement, and determination, wrapped up in a positive attitude and served with a desire to please, whetted his appetite for enduring success.
