Dearborn Arab Muslim Man Files Lawsuit Against Car Dealership Over Refusal to Do
Business Due to His Arab Muslim Background
Detroit, MI – Eyhab Aljabaly, a Dearborn resident, has filed a lawsuit in the Wayne County
Circuit Court alleging discrimination under the Michigan Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act after
a local car dealership refused to conduct business with him upon learning he was of Arab
Muslim descent.
Mr. Aljabaly has text messages that show, as soon as the dealership employee, Jessica, learned he
was of Arab Muslim descent, she immediately said, "Oh, you're Muslim, end of
conversation." Mr. Aljabaly, deeply hurt by this blatant act of discrimination, reflects on the
persistence of hatred and bias in southeastern Michigan in 2025. The incident, stemming from a
simple transaction such as purchasing or selling a vehicle, highlights the ongoing challenges
faced by Arab Muslim individuals in the region.
