I apologize for being absent for the last few months! It has been so very busy. But with that, I am letting you all know that I will be making podcasts again soon! My first one back will be out next week and then after that I will be releasing one podcast towards the end of every month.if there is something specific you would like for me to talk about in regards to immigration or our family, let me know and I will try to get it on there. So friends, with how our week has been this week, I have not had time to add another podcast episode. Carlos worked all weekend for Arte Perdida and i spent the weekend running errands and preparing for our vendor event this weekend in our home town. With the holiday coming up this weekend I hope to get an update out to you all though. I hope you enjoy your week!

So DACA renewal has been filled out, paid for and hopefully sent off. We should be hearing back about their receiving it within the next week. Lately, most approvals are happening within 30-ish days. But immigration is always fickle so we obviously don’t know exact dates. Current DACA expires in December so as long as it happens before then we are good. Check out our latest podcast updates!

Guys! I can't believe it....I got sidetracked today and wasn't home when Carlos got up for work to interview him. He has been working nights and only had one day/night off this week so it has been a struggle to find a time that works to interview him because he is sleeping pretty much the whole day away. I am going to try and get this interview for you next weekend instead of this weekend. So this weekend, the update will be something other than his interview! I will either discuss the current bill that immigration advocates have been pushing for, the HR 2920. I will get this info for you all tomorrow as I am finishing dinner up with the kiddos right now and by the time I get home, it will be very late. I am so sorry!

Here I talk about the 15 day trip, our change in itinerary, how things went for us at the border on both occasions, and just everything in general. The kids enjoyed themselves and we had a lot of fun!

I have been working on homework all day today and lost track of time, so I didn't get a chance to work on it today. But I will have it done ASAP in the morning and put it up for you! We start heading back to the US tomorrow. Carlos saw his grandma today, 20 years too late, to say goodbye. We left her this beautiful metal tree that we find in Arkansas in June. Carlos and I saw it and instantly knew that it would be the perfect item. The first Saturday that we are back in the US I will update on my podcast how our trip went from border crossing to border crossing, so be on the lookout for that update as well! Thank you all for your support and your love. We still have one last leg of this journey and it’s the hardest part for us. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Hi DACA family! So far we are enjoying our trip to Mexico! The drive was long for sure but the kids are happy to be here. Today we are at the Port of Veracruz, getting some much needed beach time in. Will update again soon!

Here are the things we have been doing in the last 7 days since my previous update! We head out tomorrow! Can you believe it? We cannot! The kids are excited! Included in our week was: a friends birthday, driving 14 hours round trip to get our oldests passport last minute in arkansas, our middle child tested out of his kids martial arts class and will be moving up to the next level, we double dated with our favorite couple, belt ceremony for middle kiddo along with the parade and fair for the town that his martial arts studio is at, and lastly, the kiddos had swim lessons this morning! Tomorrow our oldest will spend Father’s Day with her dad, we will get everything packed up into the car, I’ll have lunch with one of my favorite people in the world (Ruby), and then we start our long drive to Carlos’ hometown!

Happy 10th birth to DACA! 10 years ago today, DACA was officially was announced by Barack Obama. And USCIS officially started taking application on August 15th, 2012. Congratulations to all the DACA recipients out there!

Have you heard of Mission Adelante?!?! I’ve been hearing about this group for years but finally heard from them today. Their mission is amazing and I spoke with a gentleman from there today. He invited Carlos and I to maybe join their ”I was a Stranger KC” movement events. These are important for immigrants. They are important for DACA recipients. Check it out!

Friends! Can you believe we only have 8 days until we start our trip to Mexico! We are so excited! With that news, we are also pausing the podcast for the next few weeks and will be back on July 9th! We will keep you up to date though with what is going on, we will also post lots of pictures for you!

What will we be doing in Mexico? Are the kids really excited? What is AOS and what is necessary to accomplish it? It will all be discussed!
