By Presidential Proclamation, December 17th is Wright Brothers Day. Daytonians Wilbur & Orville Wright made the world's first controlled flight in a heavier-than-air, self-propelled, pilot-carrying airplane 121 years ago today, and the world has never been the same!
Did you know that you can view the original 1905 Wright Flyer III in the Wright Brothers National Museum at Carillon Historical Park? Donated in 1948 by Orville Wright himself, the only airplane designated as a National Historic Landmark is housed in Wright Hall along with more Wright family artifacts than anywhere else in the world!
