R.I.P. James Earl Jones. One of the best actors and voice actors across multiple generations of stage, cinema, and television.

James Earl Jones started acting in 1967 after serving in the US Army during the Korean War. He has shared the screen with such film legends as Harrison Ford, Eddie Murphy, Kevin Costner, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and many others. Starring in everything from drama to comedy James Earl Jones never saw any role as beneath him.

Best known by his booming baritone voice, it's no surprise that James Earl Jones is also known for several voice roles in his life, none bigger than Darth Vader, the single most iconic villain in cinema history, and King Mufasa in the Lion King. Some of us 90's kids will also remember him as the voice saying "This is CNN."

There will never be another like him.

Dan's quick Review. Roadhouse (2024)

Yet another pointless remake to a beloved cult classic that no one asked for or wanted. Years ago, a remake was teased starring Ronda Rousey as Dalton and thankfully, we didn't get that farce of a film, but this is like trading two kicks in the balls for just one, both options suck and neither option is ideal, but at least one is less damaging

The movie's a wad of nothing. Just talentless actors being talentless, or actually talented actors phoning in their performance, collecting an easy paycheck. The original wasn't exactly High Cinema, but it tried to tell a cohesive story, and had progressive stakes and characters that you actually cared about. It made a point to show Dalton actually doing his job, explaining the difference between a bouncer and a cooler. The original was stupid and over the top is large parts, but it used that to it's charm, made the movie about that.

The fights in this one are nice, but lack the charm of the original movie (minus Dalton's first fight in this one) and Connor MacGregor is actually pretty funny in this, but only because he's basically playing himself.
