KDRT aims to inspire, enrich, and entertain listeners through an eclectic mix of musical, cultural,educational, and public affairs programs and services. Our station builds community by promoting dialogue, encouraging artistic expression, and acting as a forum for people who typically lack media access. KDRT is the first low-power radio station in the country to be licensed and
housed within a public-access television studio and community media center--Davis Media Access. "Low-power" refers to its local broadcast range of approximately 3.5 miles, easily covering the community of Davis. However, KDRT has regular listeners and supporters across the U.S. and as far as Australia, who stream live and archived shows from our website. KDRT is volunteer run and currently airs more than 30 locally produced music and public affairs shows weekly, along with an additional 20 syndicated shows covering a wide variety of topics at the regional and national level. Our programmers are diverse, engaged community members and students ranging in age from 8 to 80.
