**A day of helping our neighbors**

At 10:11 this morning the duty crew staffing Forestry 1 (Lt. Kelley & FF Smith) along with Car 1 (Chief Aliberti) responded to Scribner Road in Fremont for a brush fire. Crews assisted in extinguishing the 2 acre brush fire. Chief Aliberti remained on scene after the forestry was released assisting in incident command as Fremont personnel responded to a separate reported structure fire in their town.

At 12:47 Engine 3 (Lt. Kelley & FF Smith) responded mutual aid to Richard Court in Raymond for a structure fire that extended to a large area of brush. Crews remained on scene until the early evening assisting in suppression operations.

In total our department has responded to 4 calls for service since 6am bringing our annual total to 448.

Just after 3pm our members handled this lawn mower fire with extension to an area of brush. We want to remind everyone to be extremely careful when operating their tractors through large areas of leaves, as a hot exhaust and extremely dry leaves do not mix well.

Neighbors helping neighbors! This morning just after their 06:00 shift start, the duty crew staffing Forestry 1 (FF/P Zellen & FF/A Bird) responded mutual aid to Epping for a large brush fire. Companies assisted multiple other agencies on scene controlling, extinguishing and overhauling the area before returning to town just before 10am. Danville Fire has remained busy this month responding to 56 calls for service thus far including 9 in the last 36 hours,

Mutual aid received: Hampstead Tanker & Sandown Tanker

At 13:09 this afternoon Danville Fire was dispatched to Long Pond Road for a Brush Fire. Personnel responded with Car 1, Forestry 1, Engine 3, Engine 1 & Ambulance 1. C-1 (Chief Aliberti) arrived to find a large area of Brush burning with extension to a chicken coop and multiple piles of lumber. C-1 established command and assigned C-3 (Deputy Coscia) as water supply and C-5 (Captain Schofield) as operations. A “First Alarm” was requested but our crews were able to quickly deploy multiple hand lines and rapidly stop the forward progression of the fire and save the chicken coop. Mutual aid was returned with the exception of the Hampstead & Sandown Tankers. Crews remained on scene for approximately 90 minutes overhauling the area before clearing. The cause of the fire was accidental from a rekindle of a previous permitted burn.

This morning our members staffing Engine 1, Engine 2, Engine 3, Forestry 1, Ambulance 1 & Car 1 with assistance from Hampstead, NH Fire-Rescue & Emergency Management, Newton NH Fire Department, Atkinson Fire Department, Brentwood Fire & Rescue & NH Division of Forestry conducted a prescribed burn on Back Road. Thank you to our members and all of our mutual aid partners who assisted with the burn!

NOTICE OF FIRE TRAINING!

The Danville Fire Department will be conducting a prescribed burn for wildland firefighter training on Saturday, October 19th from 0830-1200. The location of the burn will be the town fields located on 111A (Main)/Back Road.

Residents can expect to see multiple fire apparatus from various agencies with lights and sirens and high smoke levels in the area. Traffic in the area may also be impacted. Please plan accordingly.
